In the US, especially in an election year, nothing passes into the political realm, it is born into a political realm that already exists and dominates and manipulates every moment of society.  Critical thinking is out the window, numbers are out the window.  Driving emotions is key to getting people to vote.  Fear is one of the biggest ones.

So your saying DC created COVID because it’s an election year?

FWIW, I am not trying to spout any political message. I am simply stating you can not defend this president, he made mistakes that cost lives. However, he is a politician and like most politicians, he is incapable of admitting mistakes. He can still turn the corner, but he should limit his messages and opinions and let the professionals answer questions with facts. I don't need to hear that he inherited a broken system and everything is someone else's fault, he is elected it is his job to fix it.

His daily virus update press conferences have Unsurprisingly turned into campaign rallies. He had that ex junkie my pillow dude on there for no reason at all telling everyone how great trump is

trump is already posturing to shift blame to the WHO. A classic deflection. Embarrassing.

politics and this virus unfortunately go hand in hand here.

As I said last week, the press conferences are so tiring and long, he should come out, say hello and it was a bad day, and give it over to the experts.  Nobody needs to hear the words "very, very, tremendous" 92 times

China and WHO do bear a lot of blame

at is the case, but if we lose 20-60k each year with seasonal flu, and we have shots for it, then who knows where this one will rank

Come on man. Tens of millions of people get the flu every year. If tens of millions got this, what do you think the death toll would be?

The social distancing measures are working. Lower fatalities (due to social distancing) does not not mean corona is analogous to the flu.

So 50,000 people dying is what you would call "in control" of a situation?  Good to know.

It was not a statement, but a "what if" based on numbers and the fact that if the elderly population, (the ones dying primarily) had the convenience of a coronavirus vaccine, like they do the flu shot each year, would it have been the same?

Not saying it was the flu, was not that simple

Ok. Correct, it would not have been the same. What makes this dangerous is our lack of a vaccine and lower natural immunities. Yes, this would not be an event if we had either of those. Let’s hope a vaccine comes soon.

Early reports indicate that this virus won’t burn itself out with warm weather and the approaching summer. Ruh Roh.

The air borne part will reduce greatly, but the "touching" part probably will not

Trump: if 100k Americans die from this, we’ve done a good job.

https://www.msnbc.com/11th-hour/watch/trump-if-under-100-000-americans-die-from-coronavirus-we-ve-done-a-good-job-81814085642

embarrassing comments from the same dipshit who less than three months ago called a hoax and a democrat smear to not get him re-elected. Worst president ever confirmed.
