George Floyd Protest (exact date unknown 2020 AP):

George Floyd Protests Spread to Smaller, Mostly White Towns | Time

Lake of the Ozarks on Memorial Day

Many spend Memorial Day Weekend at the Lake of the Ozarks | KRCG

July 18 beach in Boston

Thousands of beachgoers packed M Street Beach in South Boston Saturday afternoon as the heat enveloped the area. There was no masks and social distancing with the mostly young crowd.

One of these things is not like the others...

Stop trying to compare these things.  Ive heard several infectious disease specialists and epidemiologists interviewed and confirm that spread outdoors is much more difficult but that outside is not a free pass.  Outside with masks is pretty safe even in larger groups.

I have no doubt that mask wearing percentage is much higher at the protests but let's be fair and post more than one pic. And let's definitely lose those masks when it's political photo op time.

Why would they need to microchip you when you willing pay for your own tracking device with a microphone and camera and take it with you every where you go including the bathroom?

That was my conspiracy theory of choice in the mid-2000s.  Forced RFID chipping.  One of those companies even had Tommy Thompson, former Wisconsin governor and HHS secretary, as a spokesperson.

Now there's no reason to do that.  Everybody has a smart phone and Congress is actively trying to end encryption.

I honestly didn't realize how bad it was until 2 weeks ago.  I get a monthly email letting me know my summary report for where I've traveled the previous month.  I normally just take a quick glance at the summary data (you went to 7 new cities) and stuff like that.  But for whatever reason I decided to look at the detailed view.  Holy poo it freaked me out a bit and I called my wife immediately.  The dang thing was tracking all the way down to which gas station I stopped at, where I parked and the exact minutes I was there.  I took a look back at a trip I made to Tanger Outlets last summer, and it literally recorded every single store I walked into and the exact time I was there.  There it was.  Every single minute of every single day going back to September of 2018 (when I got this phone).

The "but we're testing more now!" crowd doesn't understand math. Yeah, we are testing more now. We're also seeing a much higher percentage of positives. The increase in cases is NOT simply due to increased testing. We're also running a lot more tests right now than other countries because our active case count is rapidly accelerating while their case count is very low.

We are testing more, but there is no doubt there is a post Memorial Day/protest spike, along with more spikes coming from opening back up.  Real spikes, not just more testing.

Parts of Spain are going back into lockdown, as they are seeing another wave coming https://www.express.co.uk/news/world/1310860/barcelona-lockdown-coronavirus-spain-covid19-outbreak-latest-cases?fbclid=IwAR3qvgUw3w4EW4jmKLcYh3uDBEFctZpFVCW_hpQR-D46hbajaKUM2VSqFRU

Some people have been talking about the gubmint using Facebook and some other apps to update their facial recognition software.  I thought it was funny that as we are talking about this kind of stuff, the very first post on my timeline is another "challenge" where you are supposed to put an old photo and new photo side by side.  Here's what it says:

1 - Go to your Facebook.
2 - Go to your 2nd oldest clear profile pic.
3 - Now go in your photos and pick the last selfie in your camera roll.
4 - Put them side by side and let's see the difference.
Let’s see them Baby Faces Y’all

This is exactly my point. You are forgetting to show the other side. You think it is just MAGA-Warriors that are making bad decisions of not wearing a mask or social distancing? This shows me you listen to biased news.

What side is that? I think y'all somewhat crazy.

I'm from Sweden. Barely anyone here is using a mask and I do not. But we do social distancing.  Even more than what's already in our DNA.

Videos and news I have seen, you all suck at social distancing.

Its enough to look at the rising of deaths and new cases in the states that was not hit initially,  to see that what you are doing is not enough. Other countries have gotten this under control and kept the virus limited to some parts of their countries and only low spread in the rest. But not you, new hotspots and unprepared states even 6 months into this.

So to this point, have the view of this situation like you do. Mindblowing.

The lack of basic math understanding is shocking.

This really is day one of Stats 101 type stuff.

Were about 8th in deaths per....and that is gping to go up as our cases go up.

Unless our population grows significantly faster tyan the cases.

This is basic common sense even if one isnt good at math.

The countries ahead of us are mostly way ahead of us in stopping the spread so likely not to see the increase in deaths we are about to.

Thankfully we have great healthcare professionals for the most part but they can only handle so much....which is why we do this whole distance and mask thing.
