Brady, Brees, Ryan.......................................................Teddy

What’s so sad is that we will pay Teddy $63M to not get a chance at getting a franchise QB as a rookie. Brady and Brees are done in 2 years, why not go for a Lawrence (or Fields or Howell) and know that a 37 year old Matt Ryan is all that stands in your way to dominate the division for years. SMH. All the we can’t tank/we’ll be the Browns people just don’t get how freaking perfect this rebuild opportunity is to make multiple year playoff runs, maybe SB runs in 2023-2026. fuging Bridgewater. Ugh, we could have stockpiled the extra cap (we’ll probably even pay Short $14M in salary this year) and hit FA hard in 2023/2024 so we’re adding Donald/Mack level guys with no worries while we have CMC and Moore at ages 26-28 and 25-27 and we’ve fixed the OL and we’ve used our 11 2020 draft picks and so on.

The timing of the Saints losing Brees (Hill, lol) and Tampa losing Brady and Ryan being 37 couldn’t have been more perfect. One problem, Marty.

Wow a couple of old guys that are shells of their former self. Having a big name doesnt mean they are still great. Anyways where will they be in a few years? What does adding a 42 year old QB really do for a team?

Would rather have Teddy than Ryan honestly. And I am not a big fan of the signing lol

To be clear, I really like Teddy. But I would have rather seen if Cam could finish a season this year and not paid Teddy a 3 year contract. That said, he’s a great guy and I’ll definitely be rooting for him to succeed

With Drew Brees on the slide and the Panthers purging the defense, 2020 is Tom Brady and the Bucs year.  But 2021 will be a year under our belt of Teddy and the new offense, a year of a rebuilding and young defense, plus more cap space and a draft for the 2021 offseason.  Combine that with Drew Brees likely retired by then and looking forward to an unproven gimmick like Taysom Hill, and perhaps Tom Brady finally hitting that wall, and the Falcons on their endless treadmill of mediocrity, the Panthers will be in position to lead the NFC South for a long run.  Expectations of a playoff run aren't there for 2020, but beyond that absolutely.

brees vs brady will be a crazy matchup , guaranteed primetime game . our only chance is bridgewater plays like a franchise player , dj moore steps up mccaffrey has another big season and rhule and brady are as good as they say . if thats true all we need is a couple defensive drafts and well be back to dominance

    • This is huge may not be a trap game but this plays a major part in what they want to do. If we can get some pressure on Sam we know what he does with pressure coming hit and heavy. Also we may be able to take the top off their defense a backup safety trying to stop TMac or Cooker over the top or forcing him to play the backend should allow us to run the ball somewhat effectively. Either they allow some runs or we take some shots and if Bryce and whoever can connect deep we’ll be in business for another big time win against a top notch opponent. Might not be a trap game but health travel game plans all play a major role in each weeks game plan and this week might be leaving our way. We’re missing some replaceable pieces they’re missing key anchors to the offense and defense major difference time to solidly ourselves at one of the top teams in the nfc tomorrow fellas buckle up.
    • Yes.  If I am not mistaken, we need to sign Coker to the ERFA tender and insist that XL spends his spring and summer at a WR camp and not Coon huntin on his four wheeler.  XL was raw when we picked him--which is why I wanted to go another direction--and we are seeing how raw.  He is basically learning a position.     The Panthers will make their move in 2026 to be an NFL powerhouse behind Bryce.  Bryce needs intelligent WRs who catch the ball.  That said, we need a solid #2 to challenge XL and make cutting him easy, if necessary.  A #2 WR (intented to be a #1 by now) with under 400 yards is embarrassing.   On offense, you have to ask, "Where can we get better?"  In my view, #2 WR, TE (although they are improving) and maybe C (again, if we re-sign Mays, he is trending up and at 26, entering his prime--I say stay with him and find competition later in the draft (not good for C).  OL depth maybe?  In other words, XL is a glaring weak spot.
