I mean you're not wrong, I just don't get how someone can think the guy wouldn't have seen serious minutes on this roster last year when coached by most guys in the NFL. He's an immediate upgrade over most of the defensive line last year.

I know, we're talking about Brown.  Was just comparing your completely false comment on Brown and how he wouldnt make a difference.

Got to admit that I was a little confused about last night pick.  I love Brown, think he will be an all pro and maybe even DROY....BUT, since Tepper bought the team and then hired Rhule and increased the staff, they have said that they are incorporating analytics into the player acquisition equation.  In those evaluations Simmons was #3 and Brown #20.  That’s not a coin flip.  Team building may require a different approach, but it seems to me that you either jump in the deep end or stay out of the pool.  If you’re going with mathematics you can’t use your gut.  You always hit on certain hands and stay on others depending on odds. Otherwise it doesn’t work out in the long run.

If we didn’t/don’t shore up our defensive line, it wouldn’t matter who is the “Mike”. They would just get swallowed up like Luke did last year. Brown is gonna ball out for us.

It's like you guys have amnesia about how little Burns played last year.  Benched a majority of the season...you want pass rush, well, we have it.  Let Burns eat.  They starved that young man last year for no apparent reason.
