So we have 3 new starters, yes?

Can anyone think of any reason whatsoever that Brown, Gross-Matos, and Chinn should not all start immediately and remain in the game for as many reps possible?

This is a year for growth and learning, not winning. Get these guys all the experience they can possibly handle.

I think chinn will actually end up starting at safety in the box with tre deep and Burris moving to the nickel role by the end of the year

Ygm may not start off the bat but should by seasons end too

Just don't play our top picks at fuging gunner and I'm happy

Yep we need secondary starters. Boston at FS with Chinn and Burris moving from SS and nickel play by play. Chinn can also play some weakside LB in a 4-3. If we can walk away with a decent CB like Hall this next round he might start too. YGM, KK, Brown, Burns on the line with Whitehead and Shaq playing LBs, Boston, Burris, Chinn are the safeties/nickel, and you have Jackson at CB on one side. Hall on the other would make a talented young defense. While the offense should be fun to watch, the defense should be entertaining by the middle of the season once these young guys start really grasping it.

Finding 3 starters is a good draft--and we did not even dip into the draft's strengths--OT, CB, WR.  There is something different about this draft---something seems to be pleasantly unusual.  Hmmmm. what could it be?

New point:  Did we not hear that Marty was trying to move back up into the first round?  Is there a theory about who they may have been targeting?

    • I understand why people say things like it could be worse in relation to Tepper but it just doesn't jive for me. Are the optics bad? Yes. Would I want her to be the owner of my team? No. But I mean she's only been owner for a year and the Colts overall are a better run organization. As far as I know they've also never had the distinction of having the worst win percentage in all of professional sports either. Tepper has owned this team for 8 years and about the only thing that has been consistent has been the ability to continue to find different ways to achieve new lows. Even now people are saying things are different yada yada but we said these same things at certain points under Rhule Fitterer and Reich. I'm going to wait to see how the rubber meets the road this upcoming season before I make any strong conclusions about anything in relation to the longevity under this franchise going forward.
    • This is a toughie because I wonder what a guy like Canales thinks about redemption stories for addiction issues. Also, I think this is a case of 1 player getting caught, and not being naive enough to think this isn't more common in college than we think. I'd toss a 3rd rounder out there. 2026 is essentially a redshirt season regardless, so he's not taking over for any NFL QB next year. Best case, he's ready to go in 2027 if we pass on Bryce's extension. Worst case, he's our future backup QB2. Kid has the tools to be an NFL QB. I do think we could somehow land a '26 3rd round pick back in a trade. Our past years' third rounders are: Brazzell Princely Wallace DJ Johnson Matt Corral All this to say, I could see a team like the Jets going w/ a 2nd. They have three FRPs next year.
