Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey is surprised by former Stanford teammate running back Barry J. Sanders with a 99 overall "Madden 21" rating.

Congrats on the respect!  Yet seriously, fug Madden!  I'm 2k all day.

I'm 2K, Tecmo Super Bowl and vintage Madden. I still have a good time with PS2 era Madden. In fact, I've been playing a Panthers franchise in Madden '06 lately. I'm emulating on PCSX2 and it looks great all prettied up on the big screen. Peppers had 42 sacks last year, lol.

The only Madden game I really enjoyed playing was Madden 04.  That was due to their training camp mini games, and the game play to me was unique overall.  Now I will say this about Madden compared to 2k football, Madden always had the better music.

Yeah, Madden is never as good as 2K5 or Tecmo Super Bowl for me either. But it's still good fun, especially in local multiplayer with buds. I haven't played a new Madden since '09 though.

I remember when I finally made the switch to 2K5 after being disappointed with Madden several years in a row.  I had been a Madden guy since the early 90s.  I was so excited that I had found a new series and would stick with it going forward.  We know what EA did next, ugh.

    • That makes me wonder, how many starting tackles in the NFL and/or elite tackles have short arms? I feel like there’s probably lots of tackles that end up being drafted in later rounds because they had short arms or didn’t have the physical tools.
    • Damn back to 10th. I only caught the last 5 minutes but some of those 3's were horrible lol. In that close of game you can't be launching those many hail mary's when you could be chipping away from the foul line. I guess no one wanted to get in the paint and didn't trust the refs to give them the calls maybe? Gonna watch the highlights to get a better idea of the flow of the game
    • I agree.  The Big 12 is a good conference, and he is the swinging dick in that conference.  If Bill Self retires, that sets Kansas back a bit, and Arizona moves even further ahead as the best team in that conference.  Arizona can crush west coast recruiting with USC / UCLA no longer being relevant for LA kids, and Gonzaga not being able to compete moneywise.   If Lloyd comes here, he will be second fiddle to Duke every single year in NIL and recruits.  Not to mention the entire SEC and Big East for kids who want to stay in those regions to play. This is why I keep saying go get Mark Few.  Has proven he can do more with less from an X / O perspective but can also recruit All American players and compete at a high level. He's a god at Gonzaga, but for $9M he'd make the move as that's 4x what he's making at Gonzaga, and makes him the highest paid coach in the country.
