Was and still am a big fan of Kelvin. I was devastated about his injury and likewise with the trade. He really self destructed. Sky was the limit for him.

Yeah he never came back from the injury and his moms passing. Wish we would have kept Smitty too. Imagine if we had both of them in SB50.

KB is one of those head scratcher picks for me. He had a lot of potential but never seemed to be the same after his knee injury and the loss of his mother. His has always been a what could have been career. He wasn't a highly motivated player from the start, but he never really seemed to get it back together after his mom. Sometimes it's really hard to get back out of that "dark place."

KB was on his way to being a dominant WR but injury and life drug him down unfortunately.

Those Gettleman contracts will be freeing up soon thank goodness. With the addition of  Samir Suleiman in the role of cap management  I expect better cap and personnel management going forward.

Its like Gettleman and Hurney are having a "most incompetent" contest.

Gaulden was a real head scratcher. His measurables were awful. Really have no idea why Hurney selected him. The college scouts did not want him at all.

Brady Hoke was his college coach and on Rons staff(until he fired him the same year). I believe he was the DL coach and players didnt care for him at all. I believe Wes Horton said he didnt learn anything while Hoke was the coach. He had to play a role in the selection of Gaulden and maybe part of the reason he was fired in season too. Trouble with Gaulden was not only his skills and play where poor, but also his attitude. Hoke had to have egg all over his face for endorsing him.

    • This is a toughie because I wonder what a guy like Canales thinks about redemption stories for addiction issues. Also, I think this is a case of 1 player getting caught, and not being naive enough to think this isn't more common in college than we think. I'd toss a 3rd rounder out there. 2026 is essentially a redshirt season regardless, so he's not taking over for any NFL QB next year. Best case, he's ready to go in 2027 if we pass on Bryce's extension. Worst case, he's our future backup QB2. Kid has the tools to be an NFL QB. I do think we could somehow land a '26 3rd round pick back in a trade. Our past years' third rounders are: Brazzell Princely Wallace DJ Johnson Matt Corral All this to say, I could see a team like the Jets going w/ a 2nd. They have three FRPs next year.
    • Alright man! We're here for it! Just glad you're keeping the doors open!
    • I think we've seen improvement in Bryce's performance. It still isn't up to world beater status, but in Canales defense, he can say that the limitations of the player were hit. I think he survives that even if Bryce doesn't. Still, I think it's a 50/50 shot for Bryce to make it. QB is one of the toughest jobs to do in the sports world, if not the most, so the failure rate is really high, no matter the pedigree. Heck, Archie Manning gets a lot of credit as a great QB but anyone who saw his career in motion knows he wasn't really that good and he was surrounded by bottom of the bowl players. He did get it figured out with his sons, though. That grandson... maybe.
