Not that big of loss...last few years he's not been playing well.  Bad instinct, bad tackling, and not willing to hit.  Hope we don't try to get him.

Honestly, I'd say that's a little out there even for Belichick.

Is it just me or does it sound like teams are dumping guys this year they may have kept if it was last year? Lots of surprise cuts, just seems like more than usual.

I think you are gonna see teams trim vets in favor of cheaper young players with the prospect of the cap being fuged next season. If you aren't a legit contender, you are probably already making those kind of moves.

The naming of Newton seems to have been a leak from a team meeting, not a public announcement. Every article states that it was "from a source" from a "team meeting"
