Bright spots and , uh, not so bright spots.

The other bad....

is Carolina took an L.

Cam, Ron, Greg...all get the dub.  Little extra salt in the wound.

Doesn’t feel good watching Cam carry an offense less talented than Carolina’s, but they got what they want. A game manager who’s never going to win any games for you.

The Good:
C Mac

Except for last drive, efficient play calling, able to audible and not burn timeouts.

Passing attack looked okay when we challenged downfield (Gannon kept saying we needed to test their CB, maybe we were afraid line wouldn't hold up)

Chinn, Brown looked good

Barring a tie, we'll be in a 3 way tie for 2nd/Last place in NFCS (Didn't lose much ground -as if it matters)

Rasul Douglas looked decent for just getting here

The Bad

Heard a Raider analyst say fans were glad they dumped Whitehead, now we know why

Short and Gross-Matos ghosted us

DJ Moore showed up for wrong reasons

We evidently have only 2 sound tracks of fan noise, and cheering after a 2.5 yard gain got old pretty fast

Last year, we loaded up on pass rushers and teams ran all over us.

Seems like we always zig when we should zag.

Well I think there was more to the Brown pick than what has been said.  Someone higher up wanted him and so he was the pick.

In theory, it should.

But look at all the great pass rush teams lately, Sacksonville had Ramsey and Bouye, 2015 Denver had Harris and Talib, hell you can even look at how the LOB made Seattles Pass Rush. Look at the Raiders today and how their CBs even tackled well.

Look at Belicheck. He never, ever pays for talent like that, and look at what Gilmore, and their pass rush makes itself. He didn't pay Chandler Jones and hes one of the best pass rushers in the NFL.

Having good pass rush is essential, yes, and it definitely can elevate a secondary, but I'd prefer to have corners that do their job.

This idea that a D-line solves all of your problems is archaic and shared by fans and many teams alike.

Think about Belicheck, he very rarely pays big money for free agents, but look at Revis and now Gilmore.  He understand the importance.

Everyone thinks that a D-line makes your secondary's job easier but its actually he opposite.  Your secondary gives your D-line to do their job.  If the other team is constantly getting the ball of quickly its hard for any D-line to get pressure.

Forcing a QB to go to his 2nd or 3rd read helps a D-line as much as adding any individual on said D-line does.

Our defense was bad last year and everyone knows its going to be bad this year.  This offseason we concentrated on the line, next year hopefully the secondary.  I could see us going the free agent route next year.

This team is far too good to get a number 1 draft pick, there is no way that will happen.

CMC carried the offense as usual, Teddy is looking average and defense has some big holes.  So can we get a wildcard spot?  9-7 might actually be enough.

It can happen (with what I saw today)! I didn't see a legit defense. We looked a little lost from coaching on down. On the field, there was no captain and little communication or adjustment.

    • If Henderson just got a concussion and will possibly/probably now miss next week as well, gotta think missing 2 games of stats at this point of the year might knock him out as he was only just entering the discussion the last few weeks anyways.  Same goes for Judkins going down today too, and Dart's god awful game likely removes him from the conversation as well. It will be interesting to see how the voters compare T-Mac and Egbuka if they end up with stats that are nearly identical. Egbuka burst onto the scene and put up the bulk of his stats early in the year when Baker was playing like the MVP front runner.  While T-Mac was just more consistent throughout the course of the full season (ex. Egbuka has 8 games of 42 yards or less, T-Mac has 4 of them, while T-Mac still scored 3 TDs in those 4 games, where Egbuka only scored 1 TD in his 8). It would be a shame if they put too much weight on the final game of the season if that ends up being the division decider, as I think T-Mac has had the better SEASON while Egbuka had a better peak output during that first month or so but way cooled off since. Maybe Warren goes off in the last 3 games (they still play tomorrow), but it does seem to be down to T-Mac and Egbuka right now.
    • Mitchell Evan’s put a block on someone that he drove them all the way out of bounds and to the bench. He absolutely destroyed the guy. He’s gonna be a beast for us if he keeps that up.
    • Yall... stop taking a sample size and projecting a role player into a permanent starter cuz he had a decent year after what, 5? Come on
