Belichick is the best coach in the world. As a talent evaluator and GM he leaves quite a bit to be desired. Sure there's minimal risk, but he's signed a ton of huge name players like Cam for "low risk" deals who have pretty much all turned out to do absolutely nothing for the team. Cam in the end will likely end the same way.

Early returns are looking pretty good. This is likely a Hawks blowout with any other QB on their roster.

yup, and he's has a couple of really great passes today that were missing from his first game.  again a lot of this is the talent that roster has... but this is looking really promising.

Probably not. Belichick won 11 games with Matt Cassel who hasn't even lasted in this league as long as Hoyer. Hoyer/Stidham would have a different feel but probably not much different

Yeah, I think these first two games have kinda been a feeling out process for Belichick, McD, and Cam as they all get a feel for each other. The offense probably gets opened up more with each week.

And defenses get more film to study each week making it harder for their offense.

I think so.  Honestly, I don't think they have the personnel to be a truly vertical offense, but the threat of the deep ball will open up the run game and intermediate throws.  I think McD will find ways to score with a talent like Cam.

We'll see. If he stays healthy, I think he'll do big things this year. But the health is the big question. There's some GMs watching this right now kicking themselves they didn't call Cam. I'd bet money on that.

    • When a team has EXPECTATIONS you have to show them that your fandom and praise is EARNED.  People would be mad if the they lost two one goal competitive games like 2023 but they wouldn't have gotten booed out of the building because the effort and competitiveness would be there but to lose in THAT fashion at home with your entire top line going free lance and saying fug this yeahhh.
    • Well with back to back road games to open the season again we really can't afford a "slow start" at least not for the psyche of the fanbase that is already at rock bottom from years of losing. I think that will depend on our approach to preseason this go around. But I do agree the makings of a culture change could be big for us. At the same time we heard talk of this last year and then we got the doors blown off multiple times. I can agree with you it's best to try to maintain perspective until we get closer to the midway point of the season. The main things I want to see early on even if we aren't necessarily winning is spark and toughness from the offense and defense and at least keeping games close.
    • First goal hmmm im going with Verhague
