I am not so sure about that.

Everything they say publicly indicate otherwise.  Hell even Rhule was quoted as saying Hurney nailed the draft for goodness sake!   They think he's a frickin genius man.  Hurney is dug in like a tick and as soon as you guys realize that the sooner you will see things the way they really are.  Keep Pounding?

I hope you're wrong and Igo is right. I haven't the slightest on what the thoughts are on Hurney inside the building. I'm just standing outside baffled that he still here.

I would love nothing more than to be wrong about it.  But until that demon is exorcised from the franchise I just cannot get excited about anything this team does or doesn't do.

Everything they have done and said suggests he's not going to be around long. They completely neutered him by bringing in a cap specialist (that used to be Hurney's thing) and new director of player personnel. This is after Tepper's own word about Hurney that we all heard last year.

You don't know any that is true.  Hurney is still calling the shots.  He may not be writing the contracts but he decides who gets one.  That in itself is troubling enough.

Player A First 2 seasons Starting in the NFL - 5392 yards, 59% completion percentage, 28 TD, 31 INT

Player B First 2 seasons Starting in the NFL - 6150 yards passing, 65% completion Percentage, 28 TD, 21 INT.

Player B is Teddy Bridgewater which some of the top minds here are convinced the book is written on him and he can NEVER be anything besides what we saw his first 2 seasons in Minnesota

Player A however also had a knock on him for not being able to throw the ball deep early in his career, and I remember this because I'm more than 18 years old, Player A is Drew Brees, I remember the knock because Not only was I alive, but I played fantasy football at the time and vividly remember him being put in the same category as such elite QB's as Chad Pennington at the time.

I've said this many times, This isn't saying Teddy is Drew Brees, repeat for people who will claim I'm saying Teddy is a future first ballot HOFer,
I AM NOT SAYING THAT TEDDY WILL BECOME DREW BREES!!!!
I am just saying that this idea that Teddy is nothing more than a game manager who can't be good, is ignoring the fact that players grow in their career and what we saw in Minnesota is very possibly a shadow of what we're actually gonna get here in Carolina.

Teddy isn't playing poorly but we will need more long-term if he is going to be our QB of the future.  However, he is our QB of the present, and if he continues to hit on the 20+ yard passes it'll open the intermediate routes up even more.  He doesn't need to be hitting 45+ yard bombs to lead this team to the playoffs, but he will need to be consistent in hitting a few 20+ a game on average, I believe.

And our offense really needs to find more redzone weapons other than CMC.  Missing Olsen (and of course Cam lol).

Teddy is solid.

He's good enough to keep you from losing.

At the same time he's not the guy who can put the team on his back when needed.

A perfect example is the Chiefs.  Alex Smith was good.  He was coming off a Pro Bowl when the Chiefs drafted Mahomes (heck even was a probowler when Mahomes redshirted his rookie year).  Smith did just enough to keep the team from losing.  They were a playoff team with Smith, but that was about their peak.

Point is.

If you have an elite QB like Lawerence (which won't happen) or Fields fall within reach.  You dont pass up that opportunity.

FYI

Rob Rogers was the cap specialist

Thats fair. As a Panthers fan though I think it is normal to hope for better from him. No rookie QB is guaranteed to be even as good as Teddy. I'm not interested in that game. I'll support Teddy now, and if there is a rookie QB I will support him too. It isn't difficult.

I think most of us are mad they signed him at all.

That's not Teddy's fault but I would have rathered saved money and rolled with Baby Goat or Will G.

What if I told you that you could still have a top 5 pick without crapping all over the Panthers every chance you get.

Just imagine.

We're not crappng on them.

We want young players to get snaps. Compete with close games but just lose.

We want to get thru this year with few injuries and treat it like a big preseason so the coaches get lots of film on who we have.

Then get one of the 3 QBs coming out.

Why do you jump from top 5 to rounds 3-7?

How many solid franchise QB's were drafted after pick 5 but in round one do you think? Take a look around.

Yes but someone ahead of you needs to make a mistake for that to happen. You typically have to get lucky.
