Just curious if we are still on the he is a bust and should be a nickel only guy? He's a rare athlete... one of the fastest guys in the league. That pays dividends when he does pick a pass off. He's had one in back to back weeks and when he does the field position switches drastically... stock is trending up...

He’s really inconsistent and injury prone.

This. I still don't know what to make of him ultimately. I'm not so sure that his skill set wouldn't be best served as a roaming deep FS where his best traits (speed, range, and ball skills) would be best served while limiting his biggest weakness (aversion to contact).

he is a track star who cannot body up on people but has a knack for big plays

that's what he is

like people are bitching at him about the tampa game but what the hell was he supposed to do against Mike Evans? Next time you're playing basketball at the Y, go defend the guy that has six inches and 75 pounds on you in the post. See how that goes.

Seems to me he doesn't hate contact when he sees the wr catch the ball in front of him and he flies up to hit them in the back and then flex like he made the play of the year lol.

This... your putting him in a position to loose. I know he's probably the best corner we have but asking him to play against that monster with his skillet just isn't good for the team. Yes he's faster than him but Evans doesn't win with speed so it doesn't matter.

    • So we cut him if we don't give him the option?  I'm pretty sure there are players who didn't get the 5th-year option that played year four of their rookie contracts with their draft team.
    • I didn't say do nothing if we don't draft one in the 1st and I"m not counting on a FA to magically become a franchise QB. But signing a FA to be our starter for the year and then re-address the next offseason would be FAR better than reaching on the wrong QB in the 1st this offseason. Feeling we HAVE to find our long term solution just because we need a new QB is how we got into this mess.  We thought Two Gloves would be at worst an average level QB for a few years, that didn't happen, so we went out and traded for Darnold.  That didn't work so we went out and traded for Baker, that didn't work so we went out and traded up to get Bryce. Our last 4 QB moves were all trying to force a solution, none of them worked out, and we're still trying to find Cam's replacement all these years later.  We'd just have been better off spending a year or two building up the rest of the team and going year to year on FA QB's while doing so.  I get it, it will be frustrating to deal with, but then when you find that actual long term solution, they plug right into an already built out roster and you're ready to contend immediately.
    • Great win, should be 3-0 but I'll take 2-1. LaMelo is an MVP caliber player, period.   This is looking like an incredible draft so far. Sion James looking like the exact type of role player that all contending teams need to have, absolute steal in the 2nd. Kalk is a work in progress and I question how much upside he has but he's already been a considerable upgrade at C for us compared to the last several years (outside of healthy Mark which of course was rare).   Really seems like new ownership/front office has change the culture here significantly. Every guy looks bought in now.
