We would get much more insight if the people asking questions could ask insightful questions. Typically they just mumble about a super vague concept "Could you sorta kinda maybe say some words about how the injury to so and so might, you know, have an affect on things?" "Covid must be a challenge, can you touch on that and stuff?"

JJ will be lucky if he ever gets to interview Tepper again after Jones sideswiped him with the layoff questions. I’m sure Tep thought it was going to be softballs about the team. Kudos to JJ for doing his job. Would expect nothing less from a UNC journo.

Unfortunately journalism is dead. All they want is a headline or controversy.

That is what most consumers want unfortunately.

I think it's more what they have gotten use to. Like waiting 15 minutes in a fast food line. Sometimes the market reacts to the quality of production.

As a grumpy old man I blame Twitter. Nobody want's substance, just space filler. Most asking the questions at these Zoom meetings sound like they don't know how to speak in sentences anymore. It all comes across like they are just tweeting. Getzenberg is one of the few who seems to speak in proper complete sentences and asking structured and concise questions.

Honestly, I thought the Phil Snow hire was gonna be horrible and was just Rhule looking out for his guy...  but, so far, I'm loving it.  And I agree, his pressers are extremely forthcoming and insightful.  He's very engaging, knowledgeable, and just cool to listen to.

I also learned last week that Dustin Pedroia is his nephew.

I'm still in my mid-30s, and as a general rule, I've always hated Twitter.  I just could never get on board with limiting a thought or informative idea with any substance to 140 characters, because it did, as you inferred, seemed to dumb everything down.  I know they've increased the max character count since, but I still just never bought in.  And despite really cool ideas, information, and even memes or jokes being shared on Twitter, I miss old school journalism and writing.

Snow being legit so far is great news for us. He’s the kind of guy who could be our coordinator for years.

Sure is. I think the entire staff looks to be solid and I’m pleasantly surprised.  For once, in a long time, we have real hope.

    • Very simple terms with rough numbers. BY is due 10 million over the next 2 years. *(Panthers already gave signing bonus add another 10mill) Kyle is due 100 million over the next 2 years. BY is about to turn 24 years old. Kyle is about to turn 28 years old.   Age and money is a complete win for the BY. BUT I bet, if the names are reversed, not one sane thinking panther fan would trade a 10mill 24 year old Kyle for 100mill 28 year old BY.    If all was equal, I think the clear better option would be Kyle, no hate just plain facts. Kyle has the superior arm and better athletically. BY seems to have a better focus and care for his craft, but last year's comments hurt. Still better than Kyle not caring about knowing the plays in playbook while he's playing 4,000 hours of COD.    Guess what, very very soon BY will need a new contract........ It could be higher than kylers 46mill per....unless BY wins the SB MVP you can count me out of paying him anything around 50million per. At those numbers, just draft one. IMO BY deserves what another 1st overall pick recently got- Baker 3 year 100 million is about it for last 9 game BY.
    • It's good to know we've got a couple of Ms Cleo clones in here that already know the future careers of Kon and Ace after 2 summer league games. Let me get the winning powerball numbers too when you get some free time thanks.
    • You know there's a preseason right?
