NFL: Post deadline releases

Mr. Scot

Looks like some teams are letting go of players post deadline. Might have been guys they tried to shop but couldn't find a market for (though that's pure speculation).

The Titans let go of three, including Vic Beasley and Rock Hill native DB Jonathan Joseph. Meanwhile, the 49ers let go of receiver Dante Pettis.

Haven't seen if the Panthers are planning on letting anyone go yet. I'd guess not, but you never know.

It's crazy how far Beasley has fallen from that 1 season or so in ATL.

When he put up that 15 sack season in his second year after a disappointing rookie season, everyone just expected him to be a future HOFer. Instead, that season turned out to be a complete fluke and his rookie season turned out to be his norm.

Yeah, but tbh, I really thought he was closer to that 15 sack guy than what he is.  I was big on him coming out of Clemson.

Beasley sucks.

all the edge rushers highly drafted from that year turned out to be busts. Fowler has crawled back into having a career but he’s on his 3rd team now and isn’t 3rd overall worthy. Wild to see so much failure from the class.

Glad we’ve got Burns

    • This guy pre-draft was saying he could take or leave football, and he seems to have been playing with that mentality ever since lol.
    • Agreed, another safety would be nice. Bud Clark, TCU, is one I would like to see us take a flyer on later in the draft, if he stays healthy and we don't take someone earlier. I just really hope we draft a solid C this year. Tired of seeing us cycle through average to below average players in that area.
    • Bryce doesn't like throwing into the middle of the field unless the play broke down or it's set up to give him a passing lane.  So because of this issue, most of the passing offense has to be outside the numbers towards the boundary. So you see him throw a lot of dump offs, swing routes, short side out routes, comebacks or deep balls outside the numbers using the boundary as protection of an interception.    Pretty easy for a NFL defense to see this and scheme against it.  All you have to do is run a shell cover 2 deep dime, LB plays a hook underneath, take the flat away with a blitz/flat zone option for the two inside DB's, outside two DB's play hook zone underneath and carry anything deep.    Pretty much what NO ran to take away Rico while also limiting What Bryce can do as well.
