If they really believe teddy was the answer he would've gotten a big fat contract

I think they gave Teddy the contract they did because they needed to pay him starter money but structured in such a way that they can easily move on if he never progressed. Not promising thus far.

I'm starting to think we got suckered by Brady. He wanted Teddy because he knew Teddy knew the system and could do enough to show the full potential. Not achieve the full potential. Not even close to it. But at least pile up decent stats and show the system works and has the potential to produce an elite offense. We gave him the perfect situation to audition for a HC role and leave us hung out to dry. I just hope that we're already working on a short list of OC candidates if Brady gets the call this off-season.

I still think Brady convincing them to get Teddy was more of a "who you know" thing than a scheme-based acquisition.  They have a shared history and are from the same area, so I think it was more of Brady just liking him and being comfortable with him.

And as a guy who beat the Brady drum from early, early on...  I am fairly certain he is not going to be a HC next season, possibly not even the season after.  While he impressed early, his shortcomings are growing increasingly obvious each week.  And as a first-time playcaller, it's clear he is struggling with certain things, especially situational calls.  So, if he's having trouble with those things just as an OC, no way he'd be ready with assembling a staff and handling gameday management, imo.  I think the clock management the last few games has gotten noticeably worse and that's not a good sign from him either.

But, the good news is, that at least gives him time to develop here as an OC and he has shown promise.  We just have to find a franchise QB and better OL to run the system.

If he gets interviews I'm not at all convinced that he won't be able to very convincingly make his case that he was doing the best he can with what he had to work with. Namely a journeyman QB, a bad OL, and missing his most dynamic weapon for most of the season.

    • Nope Still missing it. Let's try this a different way... You have two quarterbacks from schools that ran the same kind of offense - maybe even two from the same school - on a given team (not necessarily the Panthers). One is designated the starter while the other is named the backup. Why?
    • yeah, pretty sure boss.....when things match and fit in the NFL.....the results then show it.  and when they don't, well, the results show that as well.  Bryce doesn't fit.   *but I get why late season and wants to argue with everyone Mr. Scot has also turned into a please don't talk to me about stats guy as well.  Given, the stats that reflect offensive productivity work against all your present arguments.
    • Yeeeah...stats and rankings have zero to do with a discussion of scheme and skill set match. Maybe look up definitions of style vs ability and see if that helps. At this point, you've basically had three different people explain to you where you're wrong, but rather than addressing any of those statements, you're just resorting to straight deflection.  You don't get it. Either that or you're acting like you don't get it so that you can avoid the discussion because it's not going well for you. (that wouldn't surprise me either) 😄 Sme result either way, I suppose.
