Could you imagine how we'd feel if we were on the cusp of being in playoff contention and then got skull drug and shutout by one of the worst teams in the league on a five game losing streak while missing their best player and missing their starting QB? Yeah...

I feel like this was their Ramses Barden game.

I mean I know that was week 2 for us but expectations were sky HIGH that year for us.

They beat Atlanta already

They wouldn’t the way they looked today with Stafford hurt and Golladay out. Stafford threw for 340 and Golladay had over 100 yards and they won by one. Atlanta beats them easily today.

They beat Atlanta lmao

See my quote above. The Lions were 4-5 before today. They looked awful today and Golladay was out and Stafford was hurt.

We gave up 49 points last week and 0 this week. We played well but the team that barely squeaked by Atlanta is not who we played today. That’s what I meant.

If you saw ATL play today you might not say that, they were horrifically bad.

I didn’t. Maybe I shouldn’t have even mentioned Atlanta. I was just trying to bash both by saying that Detroit looked so woeful that even Atlanta would beat them sort of insulting Atlanta as well.

I mean Atlanta did just beat us as well.

Let’s just leave as Atlanta and Detroit both suck.

They both do, also not criticizing you just saying ATL looked as bad as DET today vs a banged up NO team sans Brees, not sure they would have won today.

they're not going to fire Patricia during Thanksgiving week when they're playing on Thursday. that would ensure an even more publicly embarrassing loss on national television in one of the turkey leg games. come Friday, though? god knows that team was ****ing adrift this afternoon. no pulse whatsoever.

Maybe not the shutout, but I think our loss to Atlanta on prime time was very comparable.  We looked like poo.

Also, I can't count the number of games lost in this fashion under Rivera when something was on the line, so I empathize with Detroit today...  but, yes, they were especially atrocious and look like a team that tuned out their coach long ago.

    • Most teams OLs are dealing with injuries at the end of the season. So by that token all QB play should be horrific across the board, but it's not.  Using the OL as an excuse anytime a QB plays bad is just lazy.  This is the same OL when Bryce had his good games not so long ago.  So do they suck just when Bryce does bad? Obviously they played well enough when y'all were doing your victory laps and saying 'you told us Bryce was the man' in the victories. It goes back to my stance with Bryce all along...he's a low end starting QB.  He'd be a great backup. Bryce is going to have a few really nice games a season at this point in his career, with a few WTF games mixed in, but very middling overall.
    • Good Lord! I bet the O-line play wasn't the worst since 1980.  And @thebdawg, injuries absolutely can make for a bad showing at the end of the day. That's not an excuse, it's just a fact.
    • Defense stepped up after that and held them to a FG. Offense proceeded to turn it over on downs right after.  Was it an incredibly dumb penalty, of course it was. The defense played their asses off though and got zero help from the offense. If you force them to punt at that point instead of the penalty do you really think the offense does anything differently?
