Kind of Odd he doesn't have the Panthers listed on any of these QBs.

I don't also understand how Trey Lance is ahead of Wilson.

Looks more like someone writing what everyone else has said.

Probably has to do with how the league views the Panthers with Bridgewater. They think we have our QB of the future.

I dreamt last night that the Jets took Zach Wilson #1 overall and we were scrambling to trade up.  Weird stuff.  I don’t follow college ball a lot but it’s interesting Lance had 0 picks, I didn’t realize that.  There are definitely good prospects.  If the team really likes a guy and picks a QB in the first, he’s got my support

Thought that too...

You can look at other teams that have West Coast systems though. For example, they mention Wilson as a guy who'd look good in Kyle Shanahan's 49ers system. Shanahan runs a WCO like his dad.

Best Traits: Deep-ball placement and strength, ability to see the field, play under pressure, underneath accuracy

Biggest Questions: Level of talent around him, lack of starting experience

Scout's Take: "You have to worry about the talent around him, especially last year, but he throws a beautiful deep ball and I love his toughness and moxie." — NFL quarterbacks coach

jones does everything we don’t have, and haven’t had for yrs.....sounds perfect for us

People see Jones and say Brees and maybe he is.  I see him and think Andy Dalton.  I don't think that is a bad thing.  Dalton's only real problem is he doesn't show up in big games.  If Jones can play big in big games he could be your answer at qb for the next 10 years.  He might never be a MVP but you won't be trying to replace him every 2 years either.

This take on Justin Fields...

Scout's Take: "I'm not sold on the scheme making him NFL-ready, but everything you hear [from coaches at Ohio State] is that he's really smart and well-prepared. I love his athleticism, but his arm is just OK. Scheme is going to matter a lot for him. I hope wherever he goes they build around him with run-after-catch receivers and a good run game." — NFL quarterbacks coach

This overall offensive philosophy seems like exactly what Brady overall wants to implement. Everyone is caught up with arm strength right now after watch Cam with a busted shoulder, Kyle Allen, and Teddy play over the past couple of years, but we don't HAVE to have a guy with a cannon to implement Brady's offense. It would be icing on the cake. We can setup the deep throws with the running game and underneath passing attack. We don't have to go back to the days of a nearly solely vertical passing game like we had with Cam. Honestly, the aforementioned approach is the more efficient way to run an offense.

The only people high on Wilson are folks on this board....all the pros see him as a backup at best

What? :fear:

He's pretty much universally considered one of the top quarterbacks in the draft,  for some possibly the second best behind Lawrence.

What draft sites are you reading?

    • Great article on all the Lil Canes attending their debutantes ball. Walt with a great breakdown of all the rookies, as always, and I'm a huge fan of his team coverage, he is truly a treasure, but as a fan of mixed metaphors and superfluous language which some might ignorantly refer to as a "run-on sentence" I never really understood what that mean or where to put the comma after a quote in the middle of a sentence, but holy poo Walt, this is a gem, "While there's a long road left in front of them left to determine whether or not they'll have that same success on the blue line again, the beginning stretch of the journey has been thrown a wrench, and the story on defense has been the emergence of up-and-comers forced into becoming lineup regulars." , bravo, take a bow, sir!
    • How do I activate said Krispy Kreme deal? I'm stoned man you can't be playing with me about this...
    • When the broadcast showed the two benches side by side during the last TV timeout, it was pretty obvious the whole operation is a shitshow. If I was the owner, I would play that clip, with commentary, on the jumbotron at MSG as I fired the coach, GM, President, the whole lot. Bring in your AHL leadership team, wholesale, to finish out the season and start from scratch next year.  Can't fire all the players and fold the season. But, hopefully decapitating the zombie will light a fire under the body and burn out the cancer of the roster. (It makes sense if you don't think about it...) There are obviously issues on the roster. But, you can't have the entire coaching staff completely tuned out with 5 minutes left in a 2 goal game this early in the season. And you can't trust the people that hired them to hire the next staff. If you trust your AHL GM/Scouts, let them run the deadline firesale.   ...     Please don't let the owner read any of this. Because, this poo is hilarous!
