I really hope that the decision to re-sign Shaq while letting Bradberry walk played a role in Hurney's firing today.

Lets remember that Hurney made this deal BEFORE Rhule was even hired...that dipshit had no clue whether or not he would fit the new coaches scheme but decided to back a brinks truck to his door...Why is hurney the way that he is?

There’s a lot of 20/20 hindsight going on here. Yes Bradberry is having an all pro caliber year, but he never had that type of season in Carolina. Did we all forget his last season here? One week he shuts down Julio next week he’s getting burned by some random third string receiver. Same thing with Gano.

Most of us wanted Bradberry back but not at that contract

People make up all kinds of stories around here based on nothing but opinion.

Bradberry didn’t like Carolina goes with other myths like.

Tepper wanted to fire Tomlin.

Tepper thinks Hurney has a great eye for talent.

Rhule wanted to trade down and got mad when Hurney made him take Brown.

yada yada.

That last part was stated by Joe Person. Person didn’t say Rhule got mad though.

Honestly it didn't matter what Bradbury wanted, we could have paid his asking price or slapped the tag on him.  Hurney made the decision that Bradbury wasn't worth what he was asking end of story.  Bradbury proved he was a CB1 this year and we could have really used him.....he still has years left to continue being a CB1 ala Josh Norman.

This makes no sense. He proved he was a #1 his entire carrer with us. He didn't want to be here was the rumors. Still, get a comp pick or trade them for value when you pass the line where you can't or don't want to keep negotiating. Letting a guy go with that much value for nothing is bad GMing. Bradbury didn’t pull a AB, that entire process was poorly handled by a guy we are lucky to have gone.

And Norman was almost 30 when he got his deal, Bradbury has already produced for more years under a rookie contract then Norman ever did.

It makes a ton of sense, we could have tagged him......it was a Hurney decision.  We basically agree we got Hurney'd either way.

That’s even more frustrating. Franchise him then and see what the coach prefers to do. You can always rescind the tag if you can’t come to a deal and get the 3rd round comp.
