Who's your choice for GM?

Peters or Schoen. Not sure if Dodds’ aggressive personality is what you want in a GM. Add to that “multiple dick’s” and “beautiful” are ready made nicknames for when whichever one passes on the huddles favorite 7th roinder.

I could see Ed Dodds being perceived as something of a dick. He's said himself that he not shy about telling players why he doesn't like them.

He's also one of those guys who works his ass off and expects you to do the same.

My top two:

1) Ed Dodds - I want the next GM to be aggressive and Dodds fits that narrative best. I think you look at his body of work in Seattle and that stands out more than anything. Add to it he scouted Trey Lance in person in his only game this year, which leads me to believe he's likely done his homework on this year's QB class.

2) Joe Schoen - I think his approach aligns more with what Rhule wants to build here, which is a lot like what Bene and McDermott have built in Buffalo. I like he has had his hand in both there personnel side and the analytical side while in Buffalo. He learned under Bill Parcells in Miami and we know Rhule has a relationship with Parcells. Of the interviews conducted, his is the only one I've seen reported as having "strong" interview by with us. I honestly think he is the leader in the clubhouse at the moment.

I'd be okay with Peters. I just don't get the same vibe I get with Dodds or Schoen.

Of the candidates we've interviewed, who do you want and why?

(and just so we're clear, Marty Hurney is not an option)

After looking at the list of candidates we've interviewed, I was in the Joe Schoen, (gone)Dodds and Peters boat too.

But if you ask "which ones have been a part of drafting a franchise quarterback, rather than sign or inherit one?" and the list gets very narrow:

Joe Schoen (Josh Allen)
Ryan Poles and Brandon Tilis (Patrick Mahomes)
Ed Dodds (Russell Wilson)
Jerry Reese (Manning)
Jeff Ireland with an asterisk for Ryan Tannehill being a franchise quarterback for another team.

With the upcoming draft, it is very likely we'll draft a QB in the first round. Not guaranteed, but very likely. And I for one would want someone who has experience recognizing that talent, that eye for what qualities a franchise quarterback has.

That being said, I think they'll sign Peters or Ireland, with Kwesi being the curveball.

But for me, my first pick would be Joe Schoen, and correct a horrible mistake we made 7 years ago by not giving Beane the gig and not recognizing his talent, to bring Hurney back instead (who actually trained Beane and Schoen. Imagine that).

I think Schoen would be a huge get by how they've built their team that's gotten better every year, both by drafting smart, free agency smart and not being afraid to pull the trigger on trades if you know who you want (Allen and Diggs comes to mind). Every coach and GM says they're attributes are being 'aggressive', but in Carolina North they walk the walk.

With Dodds out of the race, Peters and Ireland would be fine, and there's a lot of hype around them... but for me, I'd love to have Joe Schoen.

So I guess now for me, my top choice is Adam Peters, but I have still given some thought to Jeff Ireland.

Ireland has done one thing Peters hasn't, specifically he retooled the Saints scouting department into a well oiled machine. Tepper wants someone who can help build the organizational structure, so it would make sense to have a guy who's had some experience doing that.

With that said, college scouting was Ireland's only job over the last few years. Adam Peters has been over both college and pro scouting. And to be a successful football team, you really do need to be good at both of those things.

So ultimately, I'm hoping for Peters, but I'd be happy with Ireland and okay with Schoen.

Here's hoping...

I kinda like Schoen...but I think it will be Ireland. Tepper said that he want collaboration between the gm and Rhule. No candidate would be more willing to collaborate with Rhule then Ireland.

Except maybe Peters since he and Rhule have been friends for 20 years.

Ireland has the better resumé, more experience and is said to be highly respected by Rhule. Peters is younger, on the rise and doesn't have a previous failed gig on his record.

I'd be happy with either.
