We can lay these eggs on any given night it seems.

Any team with a legit center will give us troubles, no matter how bad the rest of the roster is. It’s unbelievable how pitiful this team is on the boards, and frankly every single team will look good from 3 against us with how bad this defensive system has been.

Is it really that hard to defend the 3? My God, we seem to give average shooters career nights, it seems. It’s downright embarrassing

Borrego has followed a strategy to defend the paint and leave the 3 open more often than not this year. When players are tired, not communicating or slow rotating it makes defending the 3 very difficult. We can't defensive rebound no matter what strategy he takes.  So I would rather give up a 2 then open 3's.  You see the players sticking too long with the cutter or big.  That is a strategy for the most part.  Teams will live with 10 Melo floaters because they are getting 10 open threes on the other end. I will say that the players looked tired last night. Minnesota does not have 3 point shooters (25th in league 3pt %)  So if they light the Hornets up tomorrow night then heads should roll.

    • The #Panthers explored the possibility of adding Jaire Alexander, but there was never an offer made, a league source told @theobserver.   https://x.com/mike_e_kaye/status/1935436577649401872?s=46
    • Yes I agree, the future RT could easily be christ. When he shocking re-signed here for the cheap, he said part of the reason was the OL coaching staff.  I've already thought too much about 2026. The RT has all the options, including resigning Motown. I was never a big fan, but he's solid and peptides and stem cells can fix a gippy knee. If he makes it though this year and wants to return, why not for 2 years 16 million?? Or like you said give the job to Christ or draft your RT...... that I feel is the best current method. With both OGs in the 20 million per cap range and Icky......ooooooooooo boy he could be the first 30 million per OLmen in NFL history. That's a huge portion of cap space for the OL, which I agree with, but in order to offset those 20 and 30 million deals... you need cheap rookie contracts. (unless Motown would take a huge pay cut and whoever the C will be).  This is the deepest OL I can recall in Panthers history.  I believe Morgan should try and trade either Kingston or Zavala.  I didn't even talk about Yosh, Tarquin, or Walton. Yosh is same age as christ and why not him as RT after good swing tackle years? Tarquin is a UDFA on the prayer program, 150,000 in guarantees and why not him in 2026? Walton seems to be a OL coach favorite, he followed the Tampa Bay staff here after 2 years there and add in one year here, he's stuck around for some reason. I think they need to spend very light on RT and Panthers have lots of options, I love it.
    • That better not be the case. They need to be ready week 1. The easiest part if their schedule is the first few fames
