Keep an eye on TE's Charlie Kolar (Iowa State) projected rounds 3-5 or Quintin Morris (Bowling Green) projected rounds 4-6.

Morris will be playing in the Senior Bowl.

"Kolar has, quite easily, some of the best ball skills in the entire class. Listed at 6-foot-6, 257 pounds, he has had no problem high-pointing jump balls and back shoulders over the course of his career. For his career, he’s dropped only two of 62 catchable targets, and he finished fourth among all tight ends with 11 contested catches in 2019. While he’ll never be confused for a dynamic threat at the position, Kolar at least proved capable of getting downfield, hauling in the second-most receptions that were targeted 10-plus yards from the line of scrimmage of any tight end (28)."

The good news?  We can upgrade 3 positions and dramatically improve the offense---

1. QB

2. TE

3. LT

Get CMC back and healthy, add a G in free agency--and the offense is tremendously better.

Just wait until the phenom Greg Little develops and we are set at LT. Hurney homerun!

I don't think we undervalued the position as much as Ian Thomas just utterly failed to develop. He played better as a rookie than he has at any point since.

This. You want Kelce or Waller? Draft Kyle Pitts. Ian Thomas sucks. His backups suck. We haven’t really developed a TE in a long time in Carolina. We stole Olsen from the Bears and Shockey was at the end of his career. If you can’t get a QB you like at 8, take Pitts and you can let Curtis walk without feeling it much AND we would have a red zone threat for once.

The scapegoating and blaming the teams woes on his personality is where it's like Cam Newton all over again. It was a failure on multiple fronts and primarily Lee's. Dude said ON AIR pregame that they had to protect the paint and if that was his gameplan going in he couldn't have botched it more. As the commentators said Ball's a rhythm guy and Orlando was preventing him for getting any kind of flow going. I'm a normie watching on TV and said they needed to bait them into fouling to combat that. They didn't even try until the 2nd half when it was too late. I think it's fair to expect the star to overcome whatever but LaMelo was not the problem in that game and he's not what is holding the team back. He's the only reason they're flirting with being a great team. I kinda put the center play on Lee too. Moose is great until he's up against a big who can body him. We've always known that and that's what Kalkbrenner is for. I don't know if it would have changed much but Kalkbrenner should have had more minutes than him.  And moving forward with the center position, I just think it's the time to trade Diabate while his stock's high and that's not an indictment of his game. He's like an evolved combination of Biyombo and PJ. He's a great rim protector and the strength issue is just what you're going to have to deal with if you want that. But Kalkbrenner is perfectly capable of protecting the rim and we gotta get away from the undersized centers or it'll always be a problem for us.
    • Honestly its why that Jalen Coker grab was a big deal.  I'd been warming up to the idea of a sadiq pick and was adamantly against a receiver...but this altered my train of thought.  I mean For instance, Cade Otton signed for 3 yr 30 mil contract...thats not dramatically different than the rookie payscale for #19 (4 year 20 mil with 5th year option), however you KNOW otton is decent...no clue if Sadiq will be anything.
