The one that doesn't make sense is Robby Anderson.  Dude is hardly a fixture on this team.

Yeah, kinda surprising but then again I honestly wouldn't be shocked if he got extended this off-season. He played well this year, especially since we didn't have a QB who could take advantage of his greatest strength as a receiver

Robbie started hot out of the gate, but faltered as the season went on.  Call me partial, but I would rather re-sign Samuel now and let Anderson walk in FA after next season.

I wouldn't. Samuel's production is easier to replace than Robbie's. There's a reason why outside guys get PAID and slot receivers don't. This year's draft has a lot of intriguing slot receivers in the mid-rounds.

Wouldn't it make sense then to sign Samuel to a slot WR contract and find a rookie outside guy in the draft, economically speaking?  As far as production, Robbie in a new system allowed him to have some nice game early in the season, but it seemed once teams got tape on how he was being used here in Carolina, his production fell off.

    • I'm right there with you, brother. I've been a Panther fan since the day the team was awarded to the Carolinas.  We've had some good years, a couple of great years, as well as some low periods and no consecutive winning seasons. But I never thought I'd see such a period as we have over the past several years.   It has gotten to the point of being rather apathetic in watching them. In fact, I told my wife before the Miami game I was watching just to see what new and creative way they lose another game. And early on, it looked like they would. But damned if Miami wasn't more creative than the Panthers.   I'm now older than my Dad when he died (he was 65) and, like you, I've wondered if I'll ever see them have another winning season. I'd sure like to think I will.
    • again, I am not his employer, I dont follow his stuff or read any of it including social media, but he has been employed long enough where someone thinks he is doing a good job, not disagreeing he isnt an moron but I am not calling for anyones job for being a moron when it really doesnt affect me
