Sounds like some sort of ESPN national feed airing in their place. 

Yesterday Tiki & Tierney aired in place of Wilson in 2p-6p slot. 

Wonder what's going on...

Oh man you know it’s just absolutely killing them that they can’t talk poo about UNC and insult them for a couple segments after a couple of players appeared at a party without a mask

It can't be "not a big deal" if they're ignoring it - otherwise, somebody would say something.  Was there a COVID outbreak in the studio and they had to shut it down for a few days?

Their studio is in the same building as WBTV, 1079 The Link, and 1110WBT. 
 

I would think it could possibly be a contract dispute with their parent company (Entercom) or maybe they just didn’t pay their rent this month lol

that’s even more odd because Espn has a Charlotte (competing) affiliate. WFNZ runs national CBS sports. 

management could have sold the stations and not told anyone until the very last minute, big changes, etc.

If I had to guess, I would think the station has been sold and all of those shows are pulled until the sale is final and some may not be coming back at all.

May have to do with this:

On November 5, 2020, Urban One agreed to a station swap with Entercom in which they would swap ownership of four stations in Philadelphia, St. Louis and Washington, D.C. to Entercom in exchange for their cluster of Charlotte stations, including WFNZ. As part of the terms of the deal, Urban One took over operations via a local marketing agreement on November 23.^[27]
