Who are you referencing at the end of your sentence?  The Jets?

Who does Fitterer report too?

"...too..."

???

To answer your question, he reports to Mr. David A. Tepper...

...as does Rhule.

The org chart* is as follows:

                              [TEPPER]

                   [RHULE  <  >  FITTERER]

                        [EVERYONE ELSE]

I made a few more calls this past week regarding Watson. People I trust continue to doubt the likelihood of a trade. They can’t see a 25-year-old quarterback in the prime of his career dealt to another team.

The Texans may be the one organization stupid enough to try this. Get a King’s ransom for a player that doesn’t want to play for you anyways, or keep him against his will and watch him refuse to play.

At this point the Panthers really should be focusing on Fields and Lance and doing their homework and where we need to trade up to.

It think Fields you have to get up to three. Lance might last till 5 depending on how ATL views him. Doubt he lasts till 8 but it's possible.

Would be very happy with either personally. I think both are potential Pro Bowlers

The Texans might want to play hardball but they also know that the time is NOW to trade him.  If they get into a pissing contest and Watson refuses to play his stock will go down  Houston needs to deal him because if they wait and play hardball it will backfire.  Teams will offer less than now because Houston will soon realize they are losing draft capital everyday they wait.  Teams will start to low ball them and force Houston to accept it before it gets worse.

IMO they'll deal Watson before the draft.

I've seen nothing to indicate the Texans are motivated to do anything "NOW"...what are you basing this opinion on?

Why would Watson's "stock" go down?  What's the logic?

I figure even if he sits an entire year his trade value will be just as high if not higher this same time next year.

bc you know where the draft pick lies with the team that you trade with now. For instance, post draft... the dolphins are not going to have 2 1st round picks and Tua to offer. They are going to go into the season with Tua and two new players they got out of the first round.

Whatever team they trade with post draft is going to be a crapshoot on where they land in the draft.  At least right now, they can pick where Watson goes, and know what kind of pick value they get in return.

Gotcha, good logic.

That said, this time next year the conditions will be the same as now except other teams will know what they offered in 2021 didn't get the Texans to move on from DW and will likely have to offer more if they are truly interested.

If the Texans don't trade before the draft it would seem to be a pretty clear signal they intend to go to the mat in this situation and see it through...either DW shows up and plays or this show gets repeated in 2022.

It would be interesting to see if it goes that far. I think Watson will still be an sought after talent in a trade, but a 27 y/o QB who hasnt played in a whole year.... wont get as much traction as a 26 y/o QB coming off a top 3 season .... Teams will use that against the Texans.

What hes actually worth, and what teams will offer the Texans are not always the same thing.  These GMs are ruthless, and if they know they have you by the balls, they will do whatever they can to make it worse.  Anybody who trades for Watson is going to try to do it for the least amount of capital as possible, likewise, Houston will try to completely maximize any return they get for him.  Waiting till after the draft, or into the season, is not a good play for them.  Thats when they get desperate, and you can smell desperation a mile away.

That won't happen.

If the player isn't traded by the conclusion of round-1 of the draft he will either play for the Texans, or sit out the year.

51-days to go...

I don't think sitting out a year will hurt his value one bit...stay level or increases. JMO.

    • I want the conversations at season's end to be more about what else we need to build onto the foundation to be playoff contenders and less about the fultility of drafting yet another QB and hiring yet another coach because as long as Tepper is the owner, it doesn't matter what this team does.

    • yeah I was hoping  that we stayed put & drafted Levis at #9  i even said on here after we foolishly traded up for Bryce Young that I would not be surprised whatsoever if the Bears were picking #1 overall with our pick this year but what ...just saying
