Dalton is an exceptional backup. Seems ideal for the 49ers. Perhaps he gets scooped by the Bears and then the 49ers really want Bridgewater. That would be pretty sweet.

I'm not convinced the 49er interest in Bridgewater was legit.

Seems a bit like news put out to create a market.  "If the 49ers are interested maybe we should be also"

Don't get me wrong, would love to be true and could be possible, but this time of year you can't believe everything you read.

Flipside, i.e. the 49ers get Dalton and the Bears take an interest in Bridgewater, could also be true.

Hate to say it but looks like teams are dwindling done for us. Will we keep Bridgewater or cut him. Wow I hate we have this problem to deal with.

Seems to me the Patriots are trying mimic Cam's best results here by getting him a deep threat and two TE's.

We only had Olsen and Shockey for one year but we threw all over the field that season. They are at least doing right by Cam's skillset.

True, but they have also had success with 2 TE sets, Hernadez and Gronk, but I do agree it does seem to favor Cam and good for him.

I hope they put him in a position to succeed.

Yeah, we will only ever know if it actually happens. I would be shocked if anyone would want him at that salary. It's extremely high for a backup QB and I am not seeing many teams desperate enough to want him as a starter at the moment.

There is always injuries during camp. Perhaps we get lucky in the draft, get a guy, he is "ahead of schedule" to be the starter and we can move Teddy to another team.

Quite a few long shots need to align for that, but we can always hope.

There was talk that Matt Rhule really liked him as a blocking tight end.

Moot point now, of course.

Yep more holes. Could our record be worse this year than last, I was hoping we would be this bad in Rhule’s first year, it’s like we decided to rebuild his second year. Thanks Hurney for the Bridgewater experience!

I actually think it could, and have for a while, but I'm in the minority on that front.

    • Idk man, I think it’s necessary.  There’s people working 9-5s everyday that get told poo about what they aren’t and what they’re not capable of and they’re working for scraps.  These guys are making millions.  People are watching and invested because their team and fandom is a part of their identity and a big source of pride.  When someone like Bryce comes in and is given chance after chance after chance after proving he is not worthy of the position he’s being gifted, and he continues to be the biggest reason above any that we are losing, yeah…  I think it’s fair to call a spade a spade.  Am I saying Bryce the person is trash?  Bryce the person is a piece of poo?  Absolutely not.     I came up in an era, especially in basketball, where if you were fuging up people heckled the poo out of you.  I played in rec leagues as a teen where the fuging parents were calling kids trash and yelling poo like “TURNOVER!!!  TURNOVER!!!”  “CANT DRIBBLE!”  “CANT SHOOT!”  And that’s adults screaming that poo to kids like we were in the fuging Rucker lol.🤣🤣🤣  I went on to play basketball at a collegiate level and with professional players in different settings.  What those experiences as a kid taught me was to see if there is any merit to what people are saying, and if there is, then work my ass off til they can’t say that anymore.  Come back better, tougher, harder.  And I did.  If kids can figure that poo out, an adult calling another adult who is bad at his job while making millions and millions of dollars will be just fine.
    • I have tried to like this team, lord knows I have tried. BY9 is a nice young man, if I had a daughter he can take her to prom, but he ain't QB1 and he's not Cam or Delhomme Chuba is a average RB, he isn't Stephen Davis, he isn't J-Stew McMillan has the makings of a good WR, but he isn't 89/Moose D. Brown is a great player, but if the game was on the line I want Kris Jenkins       I miss this brand of football, even in the bad Jake games the games were entertaining It has been nearly 8 years now of watching numb football
    • I'm not so sure. Something about the whole Frank/Bryce situation seemed off from day 1. Bryce didn't fit Frank's QB mold as well as Stroud, then he basically gives up when Bryce is named starter in preseason but gets virtually no reps in games. Then he looks completely unprepared and Dalton steps in in Seattle, has a decent game under immense pressure, and it's right back to Bryce. All his mechanics are terrible and he's having the worst rookie season ever and Frank doesn't bench him?  You dont have to be a conspiracy theorist to know Bryce wasn't ready to be a day 1 starter. Everything with Bryce, then coaches, and the FO seemed forced.
