You don’t sign positional flexibility to 14 million guaranteed between two players. Big yikes to the start of this.

I guess they know something about the market that we don't know?  It's not jaw dropping by any stretch.  Just because the cap is down doesn't mean the demand is down for serviceable linemen.

Are you completely deficient at applying logic? 5 total contract years between two players 14m divided by 5....  that's an average of 2.8 million per contracted year for these guys BACKUP MONEY #MATH

So we are jumping on bad Olinemen on the first day like these scrubs will be gone soon?

Who the hell is our pro-personel guy and is he blind or have head trauma? Our backups will be too injured to sit on a bench.

Isn't Kuechly involved with our pro scouting?

    • I get it's disappointing, but this was definitely a seller's market and the only players traded away were players that would be depth pieces at best for us. A lot of the top teams (Avs, Stars, Lightning, Wild post Hughes) really only traded for depth pieces. Just a terrible trade deadline all around and I'm glad we didn't cave and sell the farm for somebody like Tro (even though I like him and he fits our team well).
    • Yes the Icky thing really kills us this year with a 17.4 I think, million dollar hole, for nothing.     His extension would likely have reduced his 2026 hit. But the extension was going to be massive.    At the same time, the massive extension money is largely freed up now and can go elsewhere.  There is just no way he should be in line for the same payday as pre injury.  I say largely freed because maybe we can do a little hollowed out extension to give him a window to get back and stay with the team past this year. Snap count and/or other incentives for 2027. Something that leaves the door open for him to get a fresh contract that reflects his value moving into 2028. Whatever that proves to be.  We’d have a lot of that money that was earmarked for his extension available to us starting next year.
    • What a major letdown. This team will forever disappoint me
