Deshaun Allegations detailed (not good)

Also some of you need to do your research. Women lying about being raped/assaulted is FARRRR more unlikely than ya’ll make it seem.

Again not saying Watson is guilty but I mean at this point we can’t judge either way.

If he was guilty he would have taken the 100 grand settlement. That's chump change.

I'm not buying it until they present the receipts.

Although I kind of agree, if he didn't think what he was doing was wrong, he may not have thought he needed to.  The sexual assault allegation seems to be resting on words rather than actions ("make or break her career").  Watson wouldn't be the first dude not to realize the connection between making someone's career and a request for sex. This isn't to say he is or isn't guilty - the docs allege some evidence exists but until its actually shown I'm hesitant to say much.

Hard to be sure how it'll all play out, but this doesn't seem to fit his image.  Not that it means much...

Right.  This got a lot more serious in a short time.

What are the odds they all contacted his attorney.

Now it is a mission for this attorney to make a killing off this. The attorney is likely recovering 40% of any settlement.

Good question.  IF the allegations have any veracity at all seems the odds would be low this guy (Buzbee) happened to find the only 6 involved.

As for the money, it's a low stakes case for Buzbee...he generally goes after MUCH deeper pockets and has a number of $100-million++ verdicts to his credit.

Very possible, but it also doesn’t mean the allegations aren’t true.

Maybe Cal/Texans heard about some of this stuff going on and decided to do their own investigation.

Once they found some dirt, they handed it over to Buzzbee when the time was right.

Anything is possible right now.

maybe someone found out Watson was a regular user of Instagram escorts...and wanted to hurt him.

you can maybe anything in any direction right now.   All pointless.  Facts will come.  Then you act accordingly to the facts.

The rape allegations aren't a year later, they're 3 months later. Thats my most concerning thing with these allegations is the increase in the severity as time goes on.

I think the timing is certainly suspect but these aren't things that materialize overnight. The attorney still needs to at least corroborate the claims before he wastes his time (read his money) on it.

Speaking of Buzzbee strikes me as every other personal injury attorney in the world. Wacky commercials,  advertisements on city busses and billboards, jingles, absurd over the top personalities, etc. They want to be recognizable to be out there so when you get injured you're the first person they call. Only difference with ole Buzz here is he has that combined with this "Boomer on the internet" mindset making him even more insufferable.

All that said, if these allegations are true. I hope the DA picks it up and runs with it for criminal charges and Watson gets jail time.

Likewise, if this is a ploy by Easterby, McNair, Tepper or whoever I hope they end up in prison too. Intentionally dragging a man's name through the mud with rape allegations is as scummy as it gets.

I have faith in the justice system and hope the truth comes out regardless what it means for the Carolina Panthers. Either way you slice it this is bigger than football.

Yeah but that’s what people want to just throw out there is he is guilty that is wrong.

I have no idea whether he's guilty or not.

The only things I feel like I can say for certain right now are that he's in a bad spot and it's highly unlikely anybody's going to trade for him.

Will they though? It's highly likely to be 99% he said/she said. If there were "facts" regarding the forced oral sex allegation, this would be a criminal case instead of a civil case.

well, all the fact won't come.   Some facts will come.  We have literally none right now.

for example, it would be nice to know exactly what services these people provide to their clients.  Because the lawyers description alone sets off crazy red flags and you know he painted it as nice as possible.

Women taking a long time to report incidents - or even not reporting them at all - is unfortunately very common.

Again, that doesn't necessarily offer anything definitive about this case, but it is worth remembering.

IMO they would not dare claim there are text messages if they didn’t exist.

Which is why it isn’t unusual when multiple women step-up at once. It’s hard accusing someone

Hi, long time reader, first time poster. There are a lot of misconceptions being perpetrated in this thread so just want to offer a different perspective.

First, I wanted Watson to come to CAR - until it became clear there are multiple allegations.

There is a difference between “masseuse” and “licensed massage therapist.”  A masseuse is likely not to be licensed and is breaking the law if they are offering massage services without a license. At least 2 of the women involved are licensed massage therapists. To become licensed, requires a minimum of 650 hours of training + passing the state licensing exam. That’s a time investment of 6 months to a year with tuition averaging $10,000-11,000. Additionally, even if you graduate & pass the licensing exam, states generally do a background check. NC has an extensive background check done by the SBI. You have to complete a 4 page questionnaire about your background & submit fingerprints then wait two months while they investigate. Licensed massage therapists are governed by the state licensing board and most also have to have a local business license.

These women are not prostitutes calling themselves massage therapists. Their licensing and any reports filed against them can be verified with the licensing board.

Licensed massage therapists are required to take ethics training and adhere to a code of ethics. Those codes involve situations like the allegations in this case. Therapeutic massage is strictly nonsexual in nature and both the therapist and the client are expected to adhere to this. Are there licensed therapists who break the code? Yes, but it is very rare.

In the first case filed against Watson, it appears the therapist was too intimidated by Watson’s status & stature to end the session before it started. Walking in & having a client on the table with nothing but a towel covering his genitals instead of being under the sheets was a red flag and that’s the point where she should have asked him to leave. But, his exposing himself & touching her with his penis is all on him. Apparently, she has texts where he apologized. If that is true, this is not a he said, she said situation.  Now that multiple others are making allegations also makes this more than a he said, she said. I hope the Panthers keep their picks & young defensive stars and look for a franchise QB through a less risky avenue.

Sorry this post is so long.

It's good info. Thanks.

    • I went to Canes games back in '04 & '05 when you were probably still a swimmer waiting to make your dad a father. There was no one there bc they sucked. Some of the lowest attendance in the NHL. As a Panthers fan coming off a SB season (03-04), I couldn't even believe they put a hockey team in Raleigh, and given the attendance, a lot of people speculated they would be relocated somewhere back up north where they would be supported and not "Mayberry." Seriously, educate youself.  That is reality. That being said, comparing that environment to 2024 Canes would be disingenuous. I was at PNC last year and know how great the current environment is. Comparing the current environment at BOA to 10 years ago is just as disingenuous.  Just bc you didn't witness how good BOA is when the Panthers are actually decent doesn't change reality. Seriously, surely you see that coming from such an elitist environment like the globally renowned world-class city of Raleigh, NC... I guarantee you if you went to a Canes game and a Panthers game in 2005, the difference would be unreal bc the Panthers were awesome and the Canes were (at the time) a moribund franchise. I have been in BOA when the whole stadium was rocking. You simply are young, don't know what you're talking about, but want to portray yourself as having knowledge about things you simply don't. You have a lot in common with modern day politicians and televangelists Like I said, Idiocracy has prevailed... Have a great day too!
    • Let it all out bro.   At the end of the day Charlotte fans just aren't that passionate as other fans. The Panthers and Hornets crowds are wack.    Go to a Canes game and you will understand this. Tell the family I said hi and Happy Father's Day.
    • Dude you have no idea what you're talking about. Best place to live?  LMAO... that's your criteria...  Charlotte gets put all over those lists too... come on man... and those lists have zero to do with sports. I'm done after this bc I'm punching down intellectually here... The Panthers have been bad for 6 years now. You are obviously young and not overly educated based off the "dunks" you're putting out there that certainly are, so let me educate you today on the Panthers. The Panthers sold out for well over a decade straight. BOA has been as good an environment as there is when the team is good.  Fan support for the Panthers has been incredible when the team has even remotely reciprocated. The idea that Charlotte doesn't support the Panthers is utter BS. People in Raleigh have the biggest little brother syndrome of all time... Nobody outside of the Triangle cares about any of your "vaunted" sports team outside of Duke-UNC in basketball on a national scale. Sure, the Canes are great. But nationally, the WWE dwarfs the NHL in ratings. More people care about Cody Rhodes than Sebastian Aho... or anyone else in the NHL for that matter... I doubt less than 5% of anyone in this state outside of Raleigh even knows who that is... that's a knock on Aho who is a great player, it's just the NHL barely makes a ripple in the overall hierarchy of American sports. It's not in the same universe as the NFL or NBA no matter how badly you want to tell yourself otherwise. Raleigh is not a big-time sports city, no matter how much you want to scream into the abyss about it. Neither is Charlotte. But no one here is making such a nonsense argument... LOL it's good to be young and to be ignorant enough to be confidently wrong... WTF are you even on this board though since Charlotte is so beneath you? There is an actual discussion board on this very site for Raleigh sports since they are so superior...  Maybe it's bc I'm watching Idiocracy with my son, but your timing is perfect, my man... The dumbest among us have become the most confidence in their ignorance... God Bless America!!
