That's true, but just depends how Cincy views each player. I just think it will be hard to get them to trade. They don't have a long history of trading picks.

I still think Atlanta is going QB. They can sit somebody 1 or 2 years behind Ryan, and be ready to go. They may not see another top pick like this anytime soon. They would also be blocking us, their division rival at the same time.

I can't remember any team intentionally sitting a top 4 pick for 1-2 years.  I'm sure it's happened, but that's a TON of draft capital to be sitting on the pine, especially for a new coaching staff.  I know Atlanta hates us, but they would be better suited to trade out of #4 to a QB needy team (besides the Panthers) opposed to spiting us by sitting their #1 pick for up to two years.  That's just bass ackwards.

I’d honestly prefer Fields or Lance over Wilson. I think they have more potential, no injury concerns, and NFL bodies.

Just saying, it would not surprise me. Especially if its only a 1 year sit.

My opinion for us, sit at 8 and see what happens. If you are trading up, you go to 3 to make sure you get Wilson/Fields

If QB3 goes #3 then going to #5 might be pointless.

I could see Atlanta trading down, makes a lot of sense for them, and I don't see them trading down with us.

I would be somewhat surprised if 4 QBS went top 4, but if 3 went top 3, I would be nervous as heck with Atlanta's spot.

Also you are assuming that the team likes QB 3 or 4 equally.  As fans a lot of us would be happy with any of the top 4 QBs, but there is a very good chance that a lot of teams will like one a good bit more than the others.

If the team decides they like QB3 that much more than QB4 they just need to go to #3.

If you are unwilling to give up the assets to do that, which is a valid argument, than just be patient but you have to be willing to accept the fact there is a chance you won't get any of the top 4 QBs.

    • This is about getting open and YAC....and the QB we have.  You basically are just highlighting average depth when targeted vs 2 players. .  And yeah, I often say AT is a small slow reliable TE in terms of what he does for us.   That's what he is.   I think a couple of you want to make this into a Renfrow argument.   I'm a Renfrow fan.  Renfrow does not check the box of what a BY O needs either at the slot.  Renfrow just a niche roleplayer at this level.  it's easy to look up how horrific AT is with the ball in his hands and in terms of getting open.....and it's also easy to look up what a low ceiling of an offense the steady AT diet produces w/ BY.
    • The one time he's actively tried to lose was the best we've ever done.
    • I simply acknowledge BY is the QB.  And just like we did when we drafted him.....the type O you would need to setup around him for success was always pretty simple.  But we have done virtually the opposite.  XL dropping some passes isn't why we were ranked the 32nd O and 30th passing the past 2 years.  *Ricky Prohel was brought up only in regards to role function he served on the team.  Niche/specialist.   He wasn't eating up the snaps in the O.    AT should have a similar snap %. People could MAUL Ricky Prohel and put hands all over him.   We got to the Super Bowl in part because we were mauling guys (our slot CB).   You can't do that now.  AT has a MUCH easier life and still can't get open.  Or run.    If you live in 3 WR sets, with a weak armed QB, and you choose to put someone who can't get open or run in the slot.......well, your are going to have a weak pass O.  That's by design IMO.
