Sounds like Jets' 2nd pick is open for business...?

overbidding for a proven NFL commodity is one thing....over bidding for a dude whose signature game was losing to Coastal Carolina doesn't do it for me.

I didn't say I was in favor of overbidding, just that if a team wants Wilson they'll likely have to offer the Jets more than what is typical to move up to #2.

Bottom line:  In a QB driven league, where multiple teams are looking for an upgrade, Wilson will likely have multiple suitors.  Jets hold all the cards/seller's market.

You just sound scared of drafting college QBs in general

I wanted to draft Cam at #1 and was one of the first lobbying for it.

I think we should draft a QB at 8.  One of the top 4 if there.  I don’t love Lance there but I won’t  cry over it.    We aren’t talking that.

They are all lotto picks.  I’m not a fan of giving up a bunch of great picks for one.  Bust rate is way too high.

I think it'd just take next year's first and like a fifth to move up to 3, tbh. I'm willing to do that for Justin Fields

I'm not on the Wilson train but acting like that coastal Carolina game shows anything is both silly and lazy analysis.

Wilson played pretty well that game but a lot of his teammates didn't. His receivers were dropping balls left and right.

CC was just about the best competition he played. He also had arguably the best olineman and oline program out of any competition he has played, and in college football in general.

His weapons though yea not the best.

I believe a lot of his mobility was allowed by a superior oline.

Around here (about 20 mins from BYU campus), it’s takes a lot of effort to find any BYU fan that thinks he’ll be a franchise QB. Even ones who love him/BYU. Of course, it’s a fans perspective.

They lost that game

My biggest issue with people who say stay at 8 and draft one next year is that there is a high chance we will not be picking this high again next year, especially if you couple in the extra game next season as well. Plus unless there is a sudden QB that has an explosive year next year, the class looks to be a weaker one.

    • With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend.  And probably an upgrade at that.  You only got 2 parents.
    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
