How realistic a chance at Sewell?

Just saw this from Joe Person...

There's also been word that Joe Burrow is lobbying the team to take a receiver like Ja'Marr Chase.

(someone snapped you like a twig last year dude, but you be you) 😕

Most mocks previously had Penei Sewell going to the Bengals, but some draftniks are changing their mind now. I've even seen one that had him going to the Broncos at pick nine.

So my question would be this: How realistic a chance do you think the Panthers have of getting Sewell at pick eight?

For that matter, if he fell to pick six or seven, would you consider trading up?

A pretty good number (and probably the majority) of the mocks coming out now have the top four quarterbacks gone by pick five or six at the latest.

I would love Sewell. He's gonna be great I think. People whine about Joe Thomas and the Browns but forget they drafted a QB in the 1st round that year (Brady Quinn) and everyone would take Joe over Brady Quinn.

Mac Jones is this years Brady Quinn.

1- Lawrence

4- Pitts

5- Chase

6- D. Smith?

7- Jaylen Waddle?/Sewell/Slater?/Parson?

8- Fields

(not sure what happened to your font)

You don't think anybody (like Denver perhaps) trades ahead of us for a quarterback?

oh Denver definitely could, this is assuming no more trades.

I'm not convinced Den is sold on any of these QBs being better than Lock. Ben Allbright is super well connected in the league and esp with the Broncos and he keeps advocating for Lock (which makes me think thats the organization saying it)

Just using Denver as an example.

Heck, people have even suggested the Patriots might trade up. That sounds crazy, but it's a crazy offseason.

    • That argument could be used for actual trolls. “If you don’t like it find somewhere else to post” is just silly. Some of us are just letting you know, you are sounding like a broken record on these threads. It’s just some constructive criticism. You don’t have to change your ways. I doubt you will. Just wanted to make sure you were aware. Feel free to deflect and use one of those GIFs again.
    • It went from he has to jump to he has to bend his hips. That’s changing it. I showed you clips of him throwing deep without jumping which means he doesn’t always have to. I liked and like Stroud better so I’m not really a Bryce defender. Just think you don’t have to make up things when critiquing our QB like he has to jump to throw it deep. There is plenty of ammo there without those exaggerations. Oh yeah the “you don’t know ball” argument. Classic.
    • I get the rookie QB formula and fully expected to see it implemented. Oh well. For the run game there was no or very little under center stuff until a good ways into the year. At least that is how I am remembering it. And no deep throwing - so stacked boxes which you can say chicken or egg on why.  Hard to run like that.  The QB that people said was so great was pulled for a designated Hail Mary thrower. That’s pretty unusual. And may speak to why we saw few deep balls in some part, along with the OL. To ignore that stuff means you aren’t working with all of the information when you try to mentally model or project what it might be like on the field.  Me, I have a slice of hope that he could maybe be NFL average but getting him to be a plus type of QB is a huge job. It depends on designing the playbook with certain values at the foundation that have to be adhered to first . You have to integrate the other pieces around this one guy’s skill set because he is a real outlier. And he has to learn the under center skill set. Maybe put that Only Positive thread back up people can go there if they don’t want to deal with rightly frustrated fans.
