What are we doing in the draft?

Fully expecting this move to predicably be a disaster. Hoping I'm wrong but I'm not gonna sit here and do mental gymanstics to try to convince myself it's a smart move.

I'm not convinced it's a smart move.

I'm convinced I don't know what kind of move it is yet.

I know the Falcons prefer Trey Lance, so whatever that means for you.

So all this Tepper brass balls "an average QB" will get you nowhere, Teddy sucks, we want D. Watson or bust coming from the Panthers..... and we end up with Sam Darnold? Also, I hope you know if Darnold has a decent year, Joe Brady will be bye bye. Do you know what the future plan is?

I don't think the Panthers know what the future plan is.

The only guy I care about is the HC.

Much like Canes fans wringing their hands about Rob Likens getting a HC job. If he does well enough to earn a HC job then that means he's done a good job as your OC. I don't see a problem with that.

That is the exact feeling I got out of the interview today. Seems like we are so desperate. If I had to bet, they are getting a lot of pressure from Tepper, but Idk if this is really the future or this year. Idk, nothing makes sense. Didn't even get the feeling we are confident in Darnold from Scotts interview.

Plan is simple. Keep trying until you succeed.

Teddy - Played well for Saints. Short contract.

Darnold - Young. Lot's of natural talent. Low risk, high reward.

Still a chance we draft Fields in the draft if he is there.

If Darnold sucks ass next year we will be in a prime spot to pick up a QB in 2022.

So, I think that our best possible scenario is Sewell or Chase or Pitts. Sewell would be our anchor for the next decade plus. Chase/Pitts would give us the best receiving core in the NFL. Chase in particular is fuging insane. Next Randy Moss.

Then next year we get that Texas Tech QB and boom. Chiefs 2.0

You're where I was a couple of years ago when the Chiefs picked Mahomes.

I died a little inside when we passed over him.

The only difference is we don't hate the Chiefs and they don't kick our a$$ year in and year out--many times twice a season.

    • I was playing around with the ESPN playoff predictor and it shows if 49ers and Rams finish with same record, the Rams hold the tiebreaker.
    • This is my thinking as well. Seattle played as good as they could on defense and Panthers still had a chance until those back to back turnovers.  I don't think the Rams played particularly well in their game against us, alot things went our way in order to win.  Someone pointed out the Rams were bad on the east coast road games and Seattle has been the better road team but they just fought a hard contested game against the Panthers, and now they travel to San Fran this week for their biggest game of the season to determine the division and if they are the overall #1 seed in the NFC or will be traveling for the Wildcard weekend.  If they lose they then travel back cross the country to play a team they've just beaten two weeks ago, not saying they won't be favored against the Panthers but the energy of hosting our first playoff game in 10 years along with the get back effect of having just lost to this team could be huge.
    • I don’t know about shadowing and all that, but according to this, whatever we are doing is working
