Houston police opening investigation on Deshaun Watson

It was Florio who pointed out that it backfired.

Hardin has been saying from the beginning that Watson had no idea who was accusing him. It was already pretty obvious that was bullsh-t. This makes it more so.

Admitting that Watson had a sexual encounter with one of his masseuses probably didn't help either, even with the proviso that it was consensual.

I don't think Hardin used the terms "didn't have any idea." I think what he's said is that Buzbee is using anonymity of the alleged victims--which is ostensibly meant to shield victims--in order to win in the court of public opinion before Watson can even properly defend himsrlf. He's even said that releasing the names confidentially would be acceptable so that he can develop a proper defense as opposed to being pigtied by a circus-like atmosphere.

Of course if it can be proved that this woman (and other women) in this lawsuit were involved in consensual sex acts sex acts with other clients, that could have repercussions in the Watson case. So admitting that he had consensual sex could in fact help his case out a lot.

The fact that the police have opened an investigation was really a natural progression of things, but it's not really some earth shattering event for Watson at this moment, and it doesn't speak speak to his innocence or guilt of actual criminal sexual assault. That's just the way it is!

The number of women involved ...I think it is up to 39.....either accusing or supporting him.... is crazy and a cause for concern.  Why would Deshaun go so so many different people for a massage and why all women?

Have you read any of the details? Its fullllllll boat of WTF. I dont even know were to start, just about everything is cover form body liquids(one woman poo herself in disgust), air humping, tiny towel, non-stop "Will you get my groin" while the towel turned into a tent. No idea why he thought what he was doing was "perfectly normal".

Please for the love of GOD, no one tell Watson about prostate doctors..... He'll be on twatter going in the DMs in record time.  I bet he'll bring his own glove too.... Oh that was in one the accounts as well, something something fist me. I quit after that one..

The notion that Watson doesn't know who's accusing him, yet could amazingly produce a long list of people who aren't, is a pretty huge stretch.

And the spin on the consensual thing? Come on, dude.

Also, again no this isn't a natural progression. The investigation is happening because somebody filed a complaint.

Some of you are acting like you have no concept of "innocent until proven guilty." You're also rushing to judgment before all the facts come out! Watson could be guilty of sexual assault, or he could just be guilty of being a pervert, or he could be the victim of opportunists jumping on the bandwagon in order for a nice payday. Until the case is adjudicated, including examination and cross-examination of witnesses, and the introduction of any physical evidence (if there is any), Watson will be deemed as innocent. If you don't like it, then you must not like American jurisprudence.

You can argue the semantics of it all you like. Even some Huddlers figured that an investigation by the HPD would eventually happen. If what at least one woman says is true, then it was an inevitability!

Buzbee was the one seemingly trying to hedge his bets on the police thing--for whatever reasons--and, no, his weak, unprofessional excuse about possible tampering was nonsense. Hardin has essentially said for days that they'd welcome any investigation because it actually unties his hands in some respect.

Would you allow any of your family members to give Watson a massage one-on-one? Simple yes or no.

It’s such a bizarre story that I’m waiting to see some cold hard facts and evidence before I crucify the guy. Watson is either one of the biggest sexual deviants in sports history, or this is a smear job of epic proportions. There is no in between.

Buzbee is a well-known wildcard. The fact they are all accusers are anonymous raises an eyebrow for me. Andrew Cuomo’s accusers are all out in the open, why aren’t Watson’s? My gut feeling is some of these “masseuses” are really Instagram models that dabble in escort services under the guise of giving a massage. It’s a well known slight of hand in the industry, and a huge gray area tightrope that Buzbee has to carefully navigate. Making all accusers anonymous let’s him control the narrative.

But hey, I’m not ruling out the fact Watson could have sexually assaulted these women, regardless of if the women were escorts or not.

Questions and answers dealing with possibly complex matters can't be made simplistic with a simple "yes or no."

But, would I now? Hell no!

Before all this came out, if they were actually a licensed professional, why would I try to stop them? Get real!

But like I alluded to, you can be what many would consider a pervert without being a criminal.

The police are investigating this due to public pressure.  The fact that Watson goes to different women is disturbing; it suggests that the masseuse and not the massage were the focal point--but not a crime.  We know this--a celebrity has to be very careful, and that is what DW is in Texas.  This was not smart, regardless, because he made himself vulnerable.

I have not been keeping up, but is there video evidence of this?  It would seem, to protect yourself and your client, that sessions would be recorded.

Which of these are you seeking sexual favors from? That's why he didn't ask some of them.

Can't fault you at all for that! If it's proven that he forced sex acts, then he's got serious problems, but if these acts actually were consensual, they all have issues! Not the kinda people I want associated with me and mine.

Also, do any of you go to 39 different doctors for the same thing? Or auto repair shops? Or dog groomers? No, you find a good one and use them.

No, but I might hire 39 prostitutes if I was into that kind of thing.

I dont think hes innocent or guilty. Also no chance any of my family nor I, would be meeting him one-on-one at some motels with his tiny towel. People talk, in the same groups people talk. If your licensed daughter heard the rumors about Watson and you didnt care....  Still years later she could join the lawsuit or add to the rumors. I mean thats a great story to tell the friends and family, right??
