He didn't "flip the switch", he just took the next step in his development - namely cutting down on turnovers.

Darnold has a LOT further to go than Mayfield ever did.

Coaching plays a role in a young QB cutting down their turnovers.

Baker was put in a much better situation this season. Play calling matters.

If I was the jets id sit Wilson for a year until they can use their stockpile of picks to add talent around him.

The Jets have nothing else at QB. They'd have to sign a vet or trade for one. If that was the plan, they would have taken Teddy as part of the Darnold trade.

I am going to disagree here.

Baker set the record for rookie TDs, got the Browns their best record since 2007, was runner up to Saquan for rookie of the year. He was definitely looking better than Darnold has so far. Put it this was, they were in the same draft class and there was no way the Browns would trade him for a future 2nd...

I don’t think it is their plan but it should’ve been. Not necessarily teddy but gotten a vet for Wilson to learn behind. I would’ve thought that they wouldn’t have wanted another darnold situation but looks like they’re just gonna throw him out there.

I hope you're right. All I'm saying is that the Darnold wishful thinkers are playing the same mental gymanstics that the Teddy wishful thinkers were last year. It'll finally be different for the player here because... well, basically because I hope so. I hope so too, but I don't think so.

The Jets have been ruining QBs for decades. Why stop now?

Know anything about the contract or if we’d extend him if this happened? I believe he’s in the last year of his deal and the cap hit is 16 million.

You would likely extend him immediately 2-3 years.
