The value of rock / paper / scissors

Rock/Paper/scissors as a means to gauge competitiveness is a flawed premise to start. It would only work if you assume your prospect is so dumb he doesn't understand it's not a game of still but a game of random chance. Unless you genuinely believe that it's not random chance but skill at reading your opponent and determining which option he will choose before he chooses it. Essentially mind reading. If you don't believe mind reading is an acquirable skill, then the notion that rock/paper/scissors is a game that competitiveness applies to in a meaningful way is bunk.

This story makes me laugh at Nick.
