What would you give up to trade up to 4?

As much as I don't like it, we've already made our QB trade. A team looking to add more draft assets isn't trading draft assets to move up in the draft after they've already traded three draft picks for Sam Darnold.

I like the move even though I have significant reservations about the player.  It means we don't have to give up three first round picks to get someone.  If a guy we like falls, great, draft him.  If not we can at least get through the draft knowing TB5 won't be under center.

I think there were better options out there than Darnold, but I agree with the Panthers in the thought that we couldn't go into the draft with the same three QB's who ended last season.

    • I don’t know how they pulled it off but what they got in return for Rantanen has definitely turned the tide for this team
    • Don't forget that Bryce's dad campaigned for XL before the draft. You think the FO still trades up for him without that? I doubt it.  And I've worn this tinfoil for awhile but I'm convinced they passed on McConkey because they saw him as redundant with Theilen on the roster. They weren't sure how much longer Theilen had, he wanted action, and they didn't want to risk a rookie eating into his touches. XL was the safer choice because he was a different sort of reciever and the preferred pick of Bryce's camp. Legette will forever be the scapegoat but I think those dummies chose what amounted to a two year rental of Old Man Theilen over Ladd.
    • Yikes man well hopefully you heal up and enjoy watching the canes win a cup
