My buddy went golfing with Grier recently. Had a discussion wtih WG, and WG was pretty open about the transition and mentioned that the game is just really fast compared to college. WG knows this is the year that could be it for him. There were a few other tidbits, but the one thing that was really cool to hear:

SD seems like a QB that just has it all together. Super smart dude and probably will be a great starter for us -WG

You do realize the point of this post was about our starter...not Grier

Since @rayzor made this a thread, let me add the rest of the tidbits:

1. WG stated that the group that has been going out and practicing has built a really strong bond. Brotherhood mentality is developing, and SD has joined the crew with ease.

2. About 8 panther players going on monthly golf outings. The individuals in that group include: CMC, DJ, SD, WG, & Shaq (Member at piper glen)

3. He stated the Colts game where he threw 3 picks had a very vanilla game plan, and that was partly because he was still adjusting. 

4. He thinks DJ is gonna have a monster year, but our defense will shock the world

The rest of the convo really was centered around personal stuff, so I will  leave that where it lies.
 

One bonus note: WG LOVES going to weddings. Apparently he is quite the entertainer.

Yeah, I was mostly just focused on the first paragraph where he said he knows this could be it for him.  At least he’s self aware. 
 

Everything said about Sam so far has been good.  I’m sure the team is happy to have him after so many frustrating losses where it seemed hopeless for a comeback win.  I think with actual coaching Sam can be pretty good.  His attitude’s definitely in the right place.  Gase was his QB coach, OC, and HC last year.  Yikes.

      Gonna be interesting to watch. All reporting indicates he's gonna be out. From what I'm hearing he's out. The interesting part will be what happens next. The job has been staying within the "family" since Dean retired. But there's no one within the family that makes any sense at all right now. They'll have to go outside the family to hire a coach that's likely to be successful and tension between the school and the basketball family is already high right now with this plot to move the arena to Carolina North because the folks within the basketball family want it to stay at the Dean Dome and they feel misled because they feel like there was never any real consideration of revamping the Dean Dome and this whole evaluation process was just meant to make it look like that was being considered. The best outcome here IMO is that we hire a great coach from outside the family and we revamp the Dean Dome as an olive branch to the family. But the powers that be REALLY want a new arena at Carolina North.

      yeah outside of 3 shots in a row for arsenal nothing has happened.  I need a quick goal for them and then MC start to press.  Need 2 shots for Arsenal and all 4 still for MC
