Rhule described Anderson's absence as "personal".

he stumbled over words and got a tad flustered IMO over his explanation on Robbie.  I mean, there is something there.   It wasn't exactly clear cut on the why.

I found it interesting when we went on to talk about the lone other player he added in that some might not be here for business reasons and he did his best to not get into all that.

Panthers DE Brian Burns says he’s feeling good after a “small” shoulder procedure in offseason. As for the new EDGE guys, Burns says offenses now will have to “pick their poison.”

Brian Burns says he feels like the Panthers defense has all the pieces needed now to be complete.

Brian Burns said his goal for this upcoming season is to "dominate," and he believe the new pieces the Panthers got will help him achieve that. He also wants to be a leader in the locker room.

that's my take.   Robbie's team doesn't want him rolling into this season on his one year deal.

With a new QB, with CMC back on the field, with Arnold coming in, with DJ getting better and better...etc.

Agent is likely leaning on him pretty hard.

Minor Note: There was mention previously of the team trying out DT Mike Panasiuk as a blocker.  Looks like they're keeping him on that side of the ball (see the pic on the right).

I know everyone here really loves the idea of converted defensive lineman playing tackle 😐

Unfortunately, Marshall was basically drafted to be his replacement. He's not getting an extension right now. Marshall will have to bust or prove to still be injury prone for that to potentially be in the cards. He can basically either show up and play or try to force his way out

    • It damned sure fell off a ton without DB last year.
    • I'm not High on Petterson hes a ghost in the post season....  and isnt going to help fill the physicality gap.
    • The lack of consistent ball placement has been a point of contention here and for good reason. This season Young has a 16.4% bad throw rate. That's the best of his career. For comparisons, this year CJ Stroud is at 17.6% and Caleb Williams is at 20.7% so Young is more accurate than both of them. Baker is at 15.7% but for his first 5 seasons, he was between 17.9 and 20.9 so while slightly behind Mayfield currently, he is better than him at the same point in their respective careers. Saying he is inaccurate is simply untrue this season. I don't necessarily fault Horn here because as I said in previous posts he never should have been in that position. To me, that's an insult to Horn but that's besides the point. Against the Dolphins, the Panthers faced a 4-5 with 3:31 left in the game. Bryce hit Horn for a 17 yrd completion picking up the 4th down and leading to a score for the win. So I don't understand why you wouldn't think he could do it again. As far as the ball placement, every analyst and receiver ( Smith and Ocho ) I have heard comment on the play has stated Horn should have made the catch. Not one of them has said a thing about the pass being bad or that Bryce should have thrown it better.
