If the team values Darnold then they will value the protection in front of him as well. Random Panthers employees are welcome to feel how they like but it is the Panthers with the need for Moton's services and thin quality tackle depth.

He/she/it isn't a Panther fan. There is a difference.

We have an influx of non-fans every season/off season. No different than any other year.

Most don't stick around, some do. Some can be cured, that one is basically herpes.

The team has put in a ton of work to make sure Sam Darnold feels comfortable. They want Darnold to consider himself "1 of 22" and not try to put everything on his shoulders.

Last year's lack of TE production was more personnel than scheme. They just didn't have the players to do some of the things they wanted.

Dan Arnold might change that. Ian Thomas, not so much. Gantt thinks the talk about him having a good offseason is just an attempt to pump him up.

As to Taylor Moton, he does still have an outside chance of getting a deal done, but Gantt doesn't believe he'll move left. He acknowledges that it could happen, but doesn't see it as all that likely.

With regard to how much Moton's deal might be if it does get done, Gantt says it won't be as good as Saints tackle Ryan Ramczyk got because Moton isn't as good as Ryan Ramczyk.

(not sure I agree there, but I'll grant I'm not necessarily objective).

And lastly, Gantt says there could still be some roster shuffling before and during the early days of camp, especially at safety. He mentioned Ha Ha Clinton-Dix as still being a possibility but not the only one.
