Burris might not be great, but I'm not sure I like the idea of rolling with what's behind him.

Won't claim to have looked, but from what I understand his contract isn't all that expensive.

4.8M, 6th highest on the team.  Only 1M in deadcap if we cut.

I'm not there tho.  It looks like a big drop off.

Conspiracy theory time!:

Pride is a beast of an athlete that does not play with his back to the LOS well---he is a soft cushion CB--I just think he will end up at S eventually.  I have not heard this anywhere, and a DB expert may call my comments preposterous or imbecilic, but gosh darn, I want to see some creativity at these need positions.  Pride is a special teamer who will not see the field behind Horn, Jackson, Bouye, Melvin, and Taylor. Why the heck not?

coach is not going to tolerate failure...like him more every day

we are in a world of hurt at LB

Next season's needs list

  • Left Tackle (maybe)
  • Middle Linebacker (how about one that takes shots)
  • Free Safety  (or a moderately-priced one)
  • Quarterback (even if Darnold is great, what is up with Grier?)

I'd say left tackle is always a need until we can go into training camp knowing who is starting without question.  My gut says, if that isn't Moton, then we don't have that guy yet.

Yeah it seems he can stick with guys pretty well, just not comfortable turning his head around when they call for the ball. Safety would work if he can hit, not sure we've seen that side of his game

If we cut Burris, Thomas and Jansen how much money does that save us for this year? I would think if a good safety becomes available Burris could possibly get cut.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
