Idk I was telling someone the other day it’s weird how quiet they have been about him. His first couple years u would see a video everyday at camp of him doing something crazy. Idk but the Panthers have been weird about the reports coming from camp, so secretive. Kinda weird imo!

Yes, he should be back to his old dominating self this year.  Considering that his injuries last year were not serious, did not require surgery, and that he likely would have been playing had we been in contention, I think all systems are go.  Expect a gigantic season from him:

2200 total yards

1200 rushing

1000 receiving

105 catches

23 total TDs.

If we're smart he's getting light work anyway.

Can you explain what you mean? I don't believe your best player should be beat into the ground. We should spread it around, spell McCaffrey more than we have in the past, but he shouldn't be getting "light work".

Light work in training camp? Yeah he should. RBs have a short enough shelf life as it is.

If McCaffrey has 100 plus catches it will sadly be to the detriment of the offense. That is more than either Robby or DJ had last year. The best value 22 has for us is the attention he commands. We have many weapons now. Put them all to use and make Sam's life easier.

And he ain't exactly fighting for a roster spot. Seriously, I shiver to think of him picking up a blitz from some on-the-fringe LB in camp.

We have a rookie who needs the snaps a lot more right now. We know what we have in CMC and we'll let him get his feet wet in the preseason. I hope we'll let Hubbard ease up the burden of his workload a little, but I expect him to be getting a ton of work when the games start counting.

I haven't seen anything about CMC lately - Is he back to pre-injury form? I finally get to pick #1 in my FF league, and plan to pick CMC, unless there are any red flags - How does he look?

Your mouse cursor should be on his name and as soon as your draft starts and you hear the jingle - you should just be clicking on cmc

    • Kalkbrenner and Sion James received regular contracts and not two ways, so the Hornets have some work to do to cut the roster size down.
    • Gustavsson would be insane. I think we would have to break the bank to afford that move. Which, I don't think is necessarily a bad idea. Ultimately, Freddie isn't likely to be around more than a couple of seasons more. We can all agree that unless they have a fleet of sports psychologists working on Kochetkov, he will never be capable of getting his head on straight enough to compete.
    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
