QB Controversy

Backups frequently have fans, hence the joke that the backup quarterback is always the most popular guy on the team.

That typically stays true about as long as it takes for them to play in some actual games wherein you get to see there's a reason why they're a backup.

In the case of Walker, if at this point you still think he's anything more then a lower tier backup, you likely either don't know the game very well or you're just delusional.

No one has. And no, just being a fan upsets people. The huddle is outraged and it's only a few people who are actually fans. The status quo says you cannot acknowledge backups, period.

Stating than any collection of players from the XFL is better than an NFL teams starting unit is blasphemy.

Being a fan of PJ should look something like: 'I'm glad we have PJ as a backup in case our starting QB misses a game or two maybe he can hold down the fort"

Not " I hope Sam sucks so bad we can start PJ and have another lost season with no idea who our true QB will be"

You can't tell someone how to properly be a fan lol, thats a personal thing. And no one has wished for Sam to do bad. This status quo thinking is weird to me. And yes, the houston roughnecks had a better oline than the panthers.

Wow so.....

I guess we need to upgrade since everyone of those OL from the roughnecks are free agents.

It seems like if they were that good at least some of them would be on an NFL roster.

NOTHING in the XFL can even hold a candle to NFL talent.

This conversation is over, you know absolutely nothing about football.

I doubt a xfl  team could beat a top 25 team in college.  They sure as hell ain’t beating a top 5 team like Clemson or Ohio state

Seriously, these guys in the XFL are bottom of the barrel talent. This so called great OL that medina keeps talking about is complete garbage. 1 of them is in the CFL and the rest of them are free agents. Most of those XFL guys were getting their first game action since 2018 or so.

The panthers OL would look like all pros going up against those trash 4th-5th string pass rushers.

the XFL is probably pretty comparable to the level of play you will watch in the second half tonight.

XFL is slammed full of those guys.   A ton of Panthers were playing in the XFL

And see, this is where the goal post will be moved. People who never even watched the XFL, somehow know everything about it.

    • Everybody made too much of that. The CBA and the 17 game schedule is what kills the cohesion we see in teams across the league in the opening games.  You decide, look at your depth and make informed decisions there or you get a an extra quarter or whatever two quarters with your ones.  Teams that are set don’t have those openings as much down the roster to evaluate but that ain’t everybody. It is a quandary. I think they need that 4th preseason game back. But as I said, I don’t lay that as the excuse for Bryce to come out looking like he does to start seasons. He has an entire camp.
    • Hey I said the 1pm west coast team, I said the up down up down and we were due for the up week.  You can’t know what is going to happen. There was a guy that detailed why the league would engineer a Panthers win to bring LA Rams back to the pack in conference standings.  Who really knows, and how much real belief do you have when citing these things? I generally have as much as my superstition allows. It rarely rises to an emotional experience. Usually it is more analytical. In terms of interest. When crazy poo happens and we win a game like today I for sure enjoy it.  I mean you have to think about it, how many times do you connect 2 4th and short situations for TDs? Who does that? That is like the most embarrassing thing for the Rams’ defense lol. That never happens and should never happen.  Expecting it to happen might not be a good plan. But it was pretty great
