Missing out on a home state and school guy like Howell would be a major blow to fans if Howell succeeds in the NFL. Even more so if they were to pass on him in the draft.

You could've used the Jets as well and I get what you're saying. Sadly enough, I think we're already on that path.

Yeah, I actually posted a thread in the main forum after I took a look at the 2018-2021 Panthers and compared it to the 1999-2002 Browns. Ouch.

The Browns have a worse winning percentage(which may change in the next 12 games of 2021) but actually had one winning season and a playoff berth in that span. We have little to no shot of that.

Thanks, I must've missed a start from a QB in 2018. We should keep track of this going forward. Bad franchises don't realize how bad they are until after everyone is already laughing at them.

I will be honest, this was why I was initially very dead set against the idea of a teardown and rebuild after the 2019 disaster. I thought it would be better to bring in an experienced, solid NFL coach to right the ship as we retooled. The fear being that we became mired in rebuilding perpetually, as most franchises who opt for a complete teardown end up doing. 

I will say the talent we have stockpiled is impressive but the results and blunders are very reminiscent of those dysfunctional franchises. I am beginning to think we are in that class but just haven't realized it yet.

The Dolphins made similar mistakes. They traded away talented players for more draft capital and they're one of the few teams we could beat. For the record, I'm a Liberty alum and a big fan of Malik. Our Team needs to fix our o-line from inside out and then find a competent QB and OC. None of this years QBs are can't miss prospects and I wish we had traded a 6th for Minshew or kept Teddy.

QB chasing this year would be foolish. If one is there that's worth the value, and I don't mean "QBs are the most valuable position in the league you have to take one" value, then take them. However, the Panthers would be well served to finally fix their repugnant offensive line problems, especially at LT, than to try a mega-reach on a QB.

Fix the line this year and then get your qb in the 2023 draft.  The timeline sucks but at least there is a plan in place instead of throwing poo against the wall
 

i also think the scouting process and combine stats on Howell are going to be entertaining to watch.

2023 free agent QB class is projected to be excellent too.

      With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend.  And probably an upgrade at that.  You only got 2 parents.

      Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.

      Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
