Look back in the thread. It's already been shot down.

To be fair, the door is still ajar, pending the outcome of his legal issues (this basically from reading Jones' and Person's tweet).

If no one jumps before those are resolved, and I seriously doubt that they will though possible, then we will likely be in on the deal provided that he is "cleared" and we have no answer at QB.

For now, that door is closed. And there's no guarantee it'll open again.

Multiple sources now saying the same thing...

I think later is probably 2022 and that is assuming Watson's legal troubles are resolved by then. Unless something really dramatic happens with his legal cases(like they all disappear suddenly), he's gonna be on the shelf for a while.

If Darnold does well, it's over.

If he doesn't, I think it's more likely we draft our next option.

If we're being boring and realistic then hell no the Panthers are not bringing in Watson. Hell look at the Hardy nightmare. And in the future, assuming Watson is cleared and ready to resume his career, the Panthers would be one of the last teams to be able to acquire him. Just look at what happened with the last QB free agency market. We were EXTREMELY desperate for a free agent QB, and the best we could do was find a QB who no other team wanted. We could never in a million years get Watson if he was in high demand.

Now for the fun side of things. Our only chance of getting Watson is now when other teams DON'T want to take a chance. Now is when we can get a good deal and not have other teams jumping in front of us, or otherwise outsmarting or bidding Fitterer. It's now or pretty much forget about it. It's fun to think about.

    • One thing about it, he's not thinking about retiring. I found it odd that some Huddlers were taking rumors and running with them, imagining a slow down and "up-playing" injuries. Moton feels great and is still in his prime according to him, and his game is still indicative of his thoughts.  Sure, it may ultimately come down to economics, but I am sure that everyone involved is motivated to keep him in Charlotte.
    • I think the knee stuff with Moton has been blown way out of proportion. The exact quote was “It’s chronic stuff. Most linemen deal with it. But it’s just figuring out what we can do to make sure it’s limited and I’m still able to explode off it, which right now I can and I feel like I can in the future,” After a while, you start learning more about it and what can we do to make sure it’s as little of an issue as possible. I feel like I’m moving like I was when I was younger.” I don't view that as a guy who's saying his knees are on their last leg I see that as a 10-year NFL olineman saying that obviously after 10 years of playing a really physical sport, he's never truly gonna be 100% healthy again and he's gonna need to spend more time with the training staff to ensure his body can continue to perform at a high level. I think Moton has another 3 to 5 years left if he wants to continue playing.
    • So much crying. Tiresome. All of you should have had enough time to come to terms with the team picking up his 5th year...
