Some blame can also go to Cam has he had a tendency to hold onto the ball to long in the pocket instead of the check down which he started to use more frequent in the latter portion of his career here.

Some of that was due to Shula's offensive strategy. He generally chose to counter blitzes by keeping additional blockers in to protect. Those additional blockers are the guys who would generally be the check down options. It was that very tendency that Wade Phillips expertly exploited in the Super Bowl with his blue dog blitzes. He had the talent in the secondary to play straight up man coverage against our subpar WRs and if your guy stayed in to block, you blitzed to nullify the extra blocker and force one on one situations.

Yea I agree Shula offensive philosophy was horrible. Cam's arm talent made up for the lack of imagination in the offense.

This thread starting to remind me of the Jets thread unfortunately...smh

I liked Cam...but once he signed with the Patriots he lost all respect, Smitty(tied for best panther ever, might I add he and Olsen should call our games), didn't even do that

We released him. He signed a contract with a team offering him a contract. How you can hold that against Cam is baffling. I mean, Olsen signed with the Seahawks and there for awhile during his career here they were probably our most heated non-divisional rival. I don't hold that against Greg.

Cam, 89 and Olsen all lost their jobs and went on to find the best one they could get when they left with another team.

where they went to play changes nothing about what they were to us.  None of them forced their way out.

Cam posted right away on Instagram to "not feel sorry for him" but I can't help it.

I loved the excitement and attitude he brought to the franchise and the dude works his ass off.  I hope his career continues, and soon.

I can honestly say, in 20 plus years of being at the stadium, there was nothing like the Luke and Cam show on Sundays.

I’m glad I got to see it. I doubt fans will see the like again

grateful I got to see it for awhile

The Patriots....

He knew Brady was a Buc, that move made sense to hurt us twice, very petty, I liked that type of ish too...

I would have loved for Cam to win a Superbowl with the Steelers but the Patriots... that's all I'm saying...that like if Jordan came back to the Lakers

It sucks seeing a favorite player sign with a team you don't like, but it doesn't really make any sense to hold it against them. They're just trying to further their careers.

Now when players leave and then trash talk the organization, that's another story.
