Context matters. I don't necessarily say I agree with the thought process but it seemed pretty clear that Rhule felt pinning a young Jets team with a rookie qb deep near their endzone would be more advantageous that kicking a long field goal, especially with how dominant our defense played. Does that mean he thought Santoso was incapable of making a 50 yarder? Doubtful. I think he hoped Charlton would've placed those better, gotten the Jets inside the 10, forced a 3 and out, and gotten the ball back with a fresh set of downs near mid field. Didn't quite happen but that seemed to be the thought process.

I had no problem moving on from him but as I said at the time….we downgraded.  That’s on Rhule.   This guy isn’t a NFL kicker.

      Btw... only Mitch fugging Marner has a better +/- than Key 🔑!!! And, Mitchy needed 5 more games and almost 100 more shifts to get there.

      I was honestly flabbergasted to see Rod send out Stanky and the boys to to matchup against their top line to start the game. The reason that line has been so effective is because they've been matched mostly against 2nd and 3rd lines all year. You've got last change. Use it to your advantage.

      Nobody played well on defense last night. But, the vitriol towards Chatfield (and to a lesser extent, K'andre) is bigly misplaced. People (not just you) just refuse to accept how bad Slavin has been this season. And, I get it. Canes fans (and informed analysts) have spent nearly a decade trying to explain to casuals just how good Jaccccob is at hockey. 4Nations happened and the hockey watching public started to listen. National media even started floating the idea of creating a new award in his honor. Then this season, he gets hurt. It happens. NBD. But, when he finally came back, it wasn't the same. He'll get back to his old self in no time. Probably just some rust, it'll be fine. Only, it wasnt rust, and he's not fine. He's bad right now. It wasnt just last night. Although, that was absolutely the worst game of his NHL career. Slavin (-4) currently has the 3rd worst +/- of anyone left in the playoffs. We've  been begging the world to recognize Jaccob Slavin's greatness. And, by the time we finally got people to listen, he shits the bed! I blame Kash!
