A competent starting left tackle is light years more valuable than a competent starting corner.  Its not even in the same discussion.  And this is coming from someone that loves Horn but if Slater turns out to be an above average LT then we done fuged up in not picking him for some stupid reason that his arms were a quarter inch too short.

Yea I mean you go all defense in the draft one year after having the one of the worst oline…then you draft one (and I mean one as in high draft investment (well as high as Grier went), hard to count where you don’t even have the other [Brown] active on game day). After having a below average ranked oline (18), thanks to 7 games or whatever from Okung. Otherwise easily bottom third of NFL.

Looking at decent NFL olineman the best ones really do go long before the half of the third round.

You can’t pay busts more money and expect them to do well. And big men do not heal. They just don’t. Proven over and over again.

Paradis gone next year. Every year I say this is the year the Panthers invest in oline but seriously 2022 literally has to be that year. Maybe Brown and Christianson will step up and the plan will come into place.

Incorrect.

Imagine our CB depth now without Horn. In a passing league, especially in our division, it's good to have a shut down corner on your team.

As with last year, you will once again see them get exploited by the Saints. A good team …or really even an average team won’t allow what we saw on Sunday with backup olineman. Of course all our olineman are backups except Moton.

A competent LT is not even in the same stratosphere in value as a competent corner.  You are drunk to even argue as such.  A left tackle is the second most important position in football.

Nobody deliberately signs players they THINK are bad. But if a players objective track record and performance to date does little to suggest they are anything but, and then they show up and perform as others expected but not as you hoped, isn't that pretty much on you?

      I'm really not stressing about upgrading from Bryce. I'm frustrated with our inability (or refusal) to recognize overall bad QB performance and failure to seriously address the issue. QB is the most impactful position on the field, and we're not only settling for what we've been given to this point, but we've rewarded it with a fully guaranteed 5th year extension for a player that's never played 2 NFL franchise QB quality games back to back in 3 seasons. I can't understand how that's ok from a coach's or GM's viewpoint. Successful franchises don't do things like this. It just doesn't make sense.  We do not have a top half of the league QB right now. Since we don't have that player, we should be looking for him. Pickett isn't it. Grier isn't it. Bryce hasn't proven he is yet. Until you have that sure fire franchise QB, you keep looking. You're not consistently making the playoffs, a deep run, or a SB appearance without one.  What's the worst that could happen? We end up with 2 potential number 1 QBs? How horrible.

      Easy to understand Pickett, if this is anywhere close to on point. Canales wants to get as close to Bryce as he can- get the pace and timing in the throws as close a he can to Bryce. So the other players don’t have to adjust so much, to a new guy.       If Cam was the 1, he would look for a rocket arm.  But Bryce is the 1. Look for limited in the same way.  Low velocity, plenty of air under it, feels just like home when Picket comes in. And you have the guys on the second team not having such a radical adjustment (if they have to play) like with Dalton to Bryce.    Enter Grier. I guess we will collect those types.
