Put Christensen at LG and Deonte Brown at RG, then we will be rolling.

Only when Pat Meyer says they're ready.  Jets started 1st round pick Vera-tucker at guard last week before he was ready.   Didn't work out so well.

It hasn't been as bad as we thought but it still isn't good. Darnold gets the ball out fast and he seems to have good pocket awareness.

Yes.  Brady gets it out in the same amount of time.  2.3 seconds.  Should Sam slow down?

Maybe that's what the Huddle largely overlooked - a quick read / quick throw QB can substantially help the offensive line avoid sacks.   And Darnold has largely been operating that way.

Maybe it's good play calling from the OC.   Maybe Darnold as a 4th year vet is now processing the game fast and can make the quick throws.  Whatever has been the cause, the result has been a boon to our OL play.

Run blocking was piss poor. CMC did incredible to get what he got, an average RB (or a average rookie like C Hubbard) simply gets stonewalled 9 times out of 10  with that level of run blocking.

Just way too much penetration and they arent moving guys off the ball when they do hold their blocks. People getting mad at CMAC should rewatch the entire game and just look at the oline on every one of those plays and look at how many defenders are immediately shedding blocks our oline attempts.

I told everyone that in the offseason our line wasn't as bad as everyone made it out to be last season and a better QB would've put us in the playoffs. Teddy had many opportunities last year where he had time to make a big play and decided not to. Darnold is capitalizing where Teddy would've failed. Everyone knows Teddy would've thrown to Thomas underneath instead of making the TD pass Darnold did today. I've seen an underneath option in almost all of our passing plays. I guarantee if Teddy was still starting, we would be 0-2 due to him only looking out for his completion percentage.

They haven't sucked because we haven't lost.  If we would have lost, it would have been "cut, fire, etc"

I agree that they are holding up fair, but are always on the edge of going into full suck mode.  Still have not gotten confident in them

I'm not saying our o-line is the best or are awesome.  They played pretty good last week and then the clips pop up of a lineman missing his block or getting bulldozed and he becomes the meal of the week.

It really is ok for us to show our o-lineman some love.  It is.  Really its ok.

Saints have a very good run defense and we didn't manage much against it today.  Passing attack was a little more effective in the first half.  Second half was rough for a while, as the Saints started getting to Sam, but our offense made some plays in the 4th qtr.

The Oline is not that good right now, but it could get better if the rookies improve. Fortunately, we are finding ways to work around it in the passing game.

LOL! Even when someone is obviously complimenting Darnold you still find a way to take offense from it.

No offense was taken.

Getting the ball out quick is an elite QB skill and I was trying to share that Sam has a stat on par with one of the best.

    • Wow I can’t believe the panthers tried to trade up, failed, but still got the guy they wanted to trade up for. I wonder if anyone else has ever said that next you’ll tell me they had Hunter and Brazzell graded as first rounders.
    • I don’t think people are saying that picking up the option is a call for the pitchforks. We would have had to do things differently a couple of years back to make declining the option a valid move. We didn’t and here we are. People largely accept that. The pattern it adheres to, reinforces the nausea we feel when the idea of an extension, and at top of the market no less, comes up.  One that he hasn’t shown he deserves.   Same as he did not deserve to be drafted 1.1. Look at Pavia and what really is the difference? Bryce is a nice guy and Pavia is an asshole lol. They are both no margin for error non day one talents. One went undrafted.  Probably should have been drafted day three anyway. The other was way over drafted.
    • We hate losing. I don't know Bryce to hate him. His play as a QB, I absolutely hate. It's just not good enough. If there were a lottery held to select the order and all 32 starting QBs could be drafted as the starting QB for whatever team selected them, how long do you think it would be before Bryce's name was called? Top 10, top 20, bottom 8? Think about it.  For me, having never seen back to back games with franchise QB level performance in 3 years tells me what I need to know. We still need to be looking for our solution at QB.
