That’s not necessarily a bad thing. As Carr went on to say our players aren’t blowing coverages and are quick. Let’s be honest with ourselves, it is a defense you’d see in college, with better athletes, coaching and execution.

Yeah, I am not sure why everyone assumes my comment was negative.  I agree with you and your comment sounds a lot like Baldy's take.

The reason I pointed it out was it echoed Brees' comment Sunday night and on that thread many posters were pointing out that we had a "college defense" last year but not this year.

Also, either way, both comments were the first time I had personally heard anyone label our D as a College D and it came back to back after great results.

Bruce Arians described us as a college defense last year. I don’t think he was being complimentary however. I never thought after looking over our new coaching staff that Phil Snow would be the one that excites me. Homie is Master Yoda as far as I’m concerned.

      I feel like this was the case with River and McDermott defenses as well, we just had the jimmies and the joes to overcome these deficiencies with all pro players at edge and linebacker positions.  Even then, was extremely frustrated in 2015 when we'd let team come back from 20+ pt deficits playing prevent only to barely win at the end.

      We need to move on soon and just use Bryce as a bridge to find our next guy. I'd like to see how this offense works with Canales hand picking his own guy. Bryce holds this offense back a lot considering you draft the first pick to carry your team and be your best player. We invested heavily for Bryce and need everything to go right just to have him look like a solid game manager sometimes. When he plays well he can look decent or mid, but when he plays bad he looks like a bottom 5 qb in league (backups included). It's not worth it, especially if we need to pay him soon, which means we have to skimp all over the roster. If the defenses don't hand it to us on a silver platter Atlanta style then we struggle big time. Defenses don't respect the offense at all. With Cam we could have the worst offensive talent and I'd still think we had a shot in any game we played. If Bryce is facing a 3rd and 10 I pretty much wave the white flag and don't think we can make that first down.
