my bad bro

Np, I'm out on trading for him bc he's an alleged predator apparently and think that's fine if folks wanna stay away from all that entirely. But football wise a qb like that is what the Panthers need.

Imagine Kyler or Joe Burrow here. If Sam don't turn it around I don't blame them for drafting a QB.

Kyler just got hurt......again.  Thats why I am pretty much out on the willis kid.  I dont trust this smaller qb's.   If Sam continues to struggle I still think they go oline in the first knowing Sam is here for 2022 no matter what.  It would be just idiotic to use a first to get a qb knowing this line isnt going to get fixed anytime soon as we are out of draft picks.

Nah, if you don't think Sam is the answer and you think there's a guy available on the clock who can be, you take him. You don't have the luxury of picking up your franchise QB at your convenience. You gotta jump when the opportunity presents itself.

Willis is bigger than Russell Wilson and Kyler is still a franchise QB. Unconvincing point you're making.

Also, Fitters can manufacture draft picks, like he did last year and the salary cap goes up next year so they can sign better guys. Interior O lineman don't require high draft picks anyway, the Panthers have just looked elsewhere to stack the defense the last two years.

And there's nothing idiotic about drafting a QB in the first round considering they're always tradeable if your current starter turns out good or you wanna move on (Sam is prime example). Sam also hasn't proven he's good yet and his contract running out next year actually proved QB might be a need soon. You're being ridiculous.

I still think we are picking in the high teens.  I dont want the 3rdish qb off the board.  Plus this class as it stands now looks abysmal.  I think if they pick a qb in the draft it would be picking one for the sake of picking one.  Fix the fuging oline and lets see how the next qb does instead of doing the same thing over and over and over

I don't really see anybody in next year's draft that screams "franchise QB" to me.

No, not even Howell. I've been a fan in the past but right now I'm not sure he's a first rounder.

I don't get why people don't understand this. We should've taken one this year even after the Darnold trade. It wasn't a certainty Darnold was going to struggle, but he definitely had a track record of struggling.

We have to fix our OL before we even consider replacing Sam. This is dumb. What QB is going to succeed with constant pressure up the middle? Tom Brady lost 2 super bowls to the Giants because of it.

The rookie doesn't have to start from day one and 1st round picks aren't the only way to address the OL. We'll have a lot of cap space available.

Deshaun Watson was the 3rd QB off the board.

    • I hope Bryce balls out. Wouldn't bet the farm on it though. Morgan has to be practical though. He was placed into a situation where he was compelled to give Bryce a long look. There really haven't been any more practical options due to who has been available at the position. The Panthers had already put their chips in with Bryce, so putting more chips in by borrowing against the future and stacking on that by borrowing against the future without really having the requisite draft capital was a nonstarter. We could either dump Bryce and go dumpster diving for known and unknown JAGs at the position, or take out chances and let it play out with Bryce and hope for acceptable returns. Due to what looks like some good moves in the draft and free agency, it appears like we're finally getting into a position where we can take a swing again if need be without destroying the core of the team. I understand that you'll believe it when you see it, but Dan is gonna move on if Bryce can't cut it. There are too many professionals lives and careers tied to Bryce to simply accept the status quo.
    • Football is the ultimate team sport. No sport is more dependent on others for your success - including coaching. I don't know if Bryce is the guy, but I do know this has been a very bad team all around since he got here. One of the worst o-lines and coaching staffs I've ever seen his rookie year. One of the worst defenses and receiving groups (including TEs) I've ever seen his 2nd season - with a rookie HC and OC. An improving WR group his 3rd season mostly due to a rookie. The only other WR of note didn't really play well until after the 10th game of the season due to injury. Still no receiving TE to speak of. And lost games because of the worst pass rush in the NFL. And the only speed he's ever had on the field was DJ Chark. A washed up DJ Chark that played here one year and has had 31 yards receiving since leaving.  Carolina had no business moving up for a QB in 2023. They weren't ready. Especially if it meant trading your only good WR to do it. Now finally there's potential on defense. Potential on o-line. Potential at WR, including some actual speed in a game where speed kills. If BY falls on his face this season, then he has to own it. Situation may not be perfect, but it's at least NFL average across the board. I won't beat him up for being bad in bad situations on a bad team. But a 4th year QB has to be able to control the offense and make players/coaches right. The team looks good enough on paper to show what he can do now.
    • Mr. 0-2 every year to start the season in his career. Last year was the first year he ever played a week 3 game.
