Matt Rhule says the Panthers offense is about to have a "vastly different look," redefined with more of an emphasis on the run game.

The drops sunk the offense no doubt. We hit rock bottom. But let's be clear. The offense has been trending downward three games in a row. The oline has been a big issue but even with some time the defense knows what to expect. We struggle with anything deep and that makes us more one dimensional. Joe Brady has been an issue but beyond the oc something is going on and if it continues this skid could along with it. Sam has to find the deep ball bc if he doesn't someone else may be next year 🤷‍♂️

I really don't understand it.    Don't they practice the Deep Ball AT ALL??

It's almost like they only practice the Short and Intermediate routes (and it's evident in the games we see).

Hard to blame the defense when they produced the bulk of the points we had and were on the field 10+ minutes more because of how badly the offense shat the bed. Not to mention the short fields due to boneheaded INT's and bad fumbles.

If you didn't notice in the 4th/OT, they were fuging gassed.

Just wonderful...........the weakest part of Panthers offense is a line that can't open any holes and no power running back.

Well do they think they are going to do?

Did you see the Titans running game against Bills recently.........what do the Panthers have that could make an attack like that???

Panthers are going from bad to Jets territory with this strategy...........LOL '

This coach is a joke.........he belongs in so so college programs.

Just a thought, Maybe instead of blaming the O, maybe just ,maybe he should be looking at a D that over the last two games gave up over - in OVER - 900 yards of O.

how many passing yards did the Panther offense have with 9 minutes left in the game on Sunday?

the D literally put the game on a silver platter vs the Eagles and the O said no thank you.

If you have horrible offense....the defense will always end up looking poor.

Down and distance predicates number of defenders more so than who the actual running back is.

For example, 1st and 10 they are probably seeing similar number of guys in the box. CMC is probably getting some different looks in the passing game but the majority of rushing attempts are probably more similar than you think.

so you are saying NFL defenses don't gameplan specifically for the best overall RB in all the NFL, who the entire O is build off of....any different than a mid round rookie RB?

I literally don't understand the people blaming this on the defense. I am not sure what game they were watching.

Just look at the fuging drive summaries alone. The offense had generated 6 points prior to that last drive that didn't come off short fields due to TO's created by the defense or scores by special teams.

I’m saying on a large percentage of running down and distances they are seeing similar looks, and the tape says the same.

Even if we do say he is seeing considerable more attention on running downs and we add .5 yard to his YPC over the course of a 20 carry game that is an extra 10 yards rushing, which isn’t much considering he is shaking off the initial arm tackle as often as you made it sound.

This idea that you would have drastically different results with CMC rushing is overplayed, if carries are equalized.

It's tough to see how this team becomes some sort of smash-mouth running offense with the OL personnel we currently have.   Outside of Deonte Brown (who's hurt) and maybe Moton, there's no other linemen on the Panther's roster who are big enough to just blow people off of the line of scrimmage.

I think this is more wishful thinking by Rhule than a plan that will actually work.  He sees his WR drop the ball constantly so "hey, let's run more instead !".

Defenses are just going to load the box and our RB will run into a wall every play.   It's going to be "three and out" all game long.

I've grown accustomed to expecting opposite of what Rhule says.

That means hurry up tempo, 5 wide, fug it chug it football.

Hopefully similar to the game tying drive that we saw.

took way too long for them to go to the hurry up spread offense

Maybe they'll start doing it from the beginning and this next game is the perfect opportunity to experiment with that against a hapless Giants team.

If they do that and Sam excels, maybe they may have found the key to Sam's complicated "lock", so to speak.

But if Sam still struggles, then they'll definitely know once and for all that there is no fixing him.
